There was a large attendance at the funeral of Mrs.Rachel A Buchanan, a mile
north of Joanna Heights, because of the extensive kindred of the family, many
friends and neighbors of the community who had known the deceased for a long
time, and who at times had called upon her when in need, were present at the
house. Friends from a distance were met at Joanna Heights station by owners of
autos and conveyed to her late residence.
After brief services, conducted by Rev. Walter H Humphries, the funeral
proceeded to Honeybrook, where further services were held in the Methodist
Church by Rev. Humphries. Interment was made in the Honeybrook cemetery by the
side of her husband who died several years ago. Funeral Director Edwin F Mohr,
of Birdsboro, had charge.
The body was attired in black and lay in a fine casket with numerous trimmings
and extension handles. The remains were covered with a satin trimmed elderdown
blanket, the gift of her grandson Claire Glass. The bearers were the following
