Mrs. Thomas Boofter
Mrs. Rachel A. Boofter died last evening at her home, on Second Avenue, at the 
age of 75 years.  Mrs. Boofter had been in poor health for the past year, due 
to complications.  She is the widow of Thomas Boofter, who came here with the 
Parkesburg Iron Company and conducted a bakery for many years.  She was a long 
time member of the Methodist Episcopal Church.  Surviving her are these 
children: Mrs. Eckert G. Varnes, this place; Mrs. Emma Steen, Miss Grace 
Boofter, at home, and Mrs. Edward Zwicker, 5712 Chester Avenue, Philadelphia, 
and one child, Elizabeth, Deceased.  Thomas Whiteman and Mrs. Sarah Brown, of 
this place and Charles Whiteman, Philadelphia, are surviving brothers and 
sister.

BOOFTER- In Parkesburg, on January 9, Rachel A., Widow of the late J.T. 
Boofter, in her 74th year.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral without 
further notice from her late home, 424 Second Avenue, Parkesburg, on Saturday 
Jan. 13, at 2 o'clock p.m.  Interment private at Fairview Cemetery.

Funeral of Mrs. Boofter
Funeral services were held on Saturday for Mrs. Rachel A. Boofter, the last 
surviving charter member of Parkesburg M.E. Church.  Rev. F. A. Manlove, of 
Media, a former pastor, assisted Rev. W.T. Dunkle.  A quartet, Miss Audrey 
Hostetter, Mrs. Wm. McClure, J. Vincent Townsley, and H. B. Blocher, sang, I 
am a Soldier of the Cross and  Abide With Me. Beautiful floral tributes came 
from her church, also from Allegheny Avenue M.E. Church, of Philadelphia, of 
which her brother, Charles Whiteman, is a member and the family and friends.  
Pall bearers were J. Vincent Townsley, Ralph and Paul Varnes, George Brown, of 
this place and Howard Gable, George Childe, and Thomas Y. Dixon, of 
Philadelphia.  Interment was made in Fairview Cemetery, Coatesville.
