Aldus Benner
Aldus Benner, of Atglen, died yesterday at the Chester 
Count Hospital following an operation.  Mr. Benner some 
time ago received an injury to one of his legs and the 
limb was amputated, a second operation became necessary 
and was performed yesterday, but the patient did not 
rally and he died shortly afterwards.  He was 47 years 
of age and is survived by a wife and son.

BENNER-In Chester County Hospital, on January 12th, 
1923, Aldus W. Benner. Relatives and friends of the 
family are invited to attend the funeral without further 
notice form his late residence, in Atglen, on Tuesday, 
January 16, 1923.  Services at the house at 1:30 o'clock 
p.m.  Interment at Atglen Baptist Cemetery.

FUNERAL
Funeral services were held over the body of Aldus Benner, 
at his late home, on Valley Avenue, on Tuesday afternoon, 
at 1:30 o'clock.  The services were attended by many 
relatives and friends.  The services were attended by

by Rev. J.E. Balderson, pastor of the Baptist Church here, 
where the deceased was a member, taking his theme from 
Deuteronomy, 34:1, And Moses went up from the plains of 
Moag unto the mountain of Nebo to top of Pisgah.  Two 
selections were sung, The Old Rugged Cross, and It is 
well with my soul, by a male quartette.  The floral 
tributes were many and beautiful.  The pall bearers were 
Messrs. William Young, P.F. Hudson, Charles Philips, 
Atglen; Stephen La Fave, George B. Mercer, and Alfred L. 
Crowe, of Downingtown.  Interment was made in the Atglen 
Baptist Cemetery.

On Monday evening, 25 men representing the Downingtown 
Manufacturing Company came to Atglen to pay their last 
tribute of respect to Aldus Benner, who had been an 
employee of the above company for a number of years.
