James Anderson.
James Anderson, colored, of West Gay Street, aged about 65 years, died early 
today after an illness extending over about one year with a complication of 
troubles.  He leaves a widow, formerly Miss Esther, Daughter of James Spence, 
of this place, two sons, Oscar and John, the latter of near Berwyn and one 
daughter, wife of Fred Curry, of this place.  For many years, the deceased was 
know as one of the leading barbers in this place and had a large circle of 
friends and relatives here and in other places.  For many years he had been an 
Elder of the Second Presbyterian /church and had been know as a true, honest, 
Christian man.  He came to West Chester nearly thirty years ago from Oxford.
