Another of the industrious colored citizens of Oxford has paid the debt of 
nature. Jeremiah B. Allison, about 75 years old, died at his home on Fifth 
Street, on Tuesday morning, September 12, 1911. Death resulted from protracted 
trouble of kidneys. He was born in Lancaster county. About 37 years ago mr. 
Allison came to Oxford. For 30 years he was employed on the Central Division 
Railroad as tender to stone masons. Some years ago he was pensioned by 
Pennsylvania Railroad Company. He spent his declining years at his comfortable 
home. Deceased was well behave and was respected. Three daughters and one son 
survive; Mrs. Annie Bell Wells at home, Mrs. Annie Duffy of Chester, Mrs Sadie 
Simpson of Philadelphia; William H. Allison of Pawtucket, R.I. The funeral 
service will be held at 11 a. m. on Friday in Allen A.M.E. Church, Oxford. 
interment in Calvary.
