John C. BEHRER, 77, of Spruce Creek, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, at
The Hershey Medical Center, Hershey. Born Oct. 12, 1925, in Spruce
Creek, he was a son of the late Reuben and Mabel (Peterson) Behrer. On
May 26, 1951, he married the former Bernice Rider. Mrs. Behrer survives
at home. He is survived by one son and three daughters: Michael A.
Behrer, Spruce Creek; Ruth Ann Corridon, Westfield. Mass.; Nancy Nagel,
State College; and Susan Blum, LaGrangeville. N.Y. One sister, Jane
Baney of Pennsylvania Furnace, survives. There are eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Edward Behrer, and one
brother, Alfred E. Behrer. Mr. Behrer was a member and elder of the
Upper Spruce Creek Presbyterian Church, Spruce Creek. A self-employed
farmer, he was a member of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, past board
member of the Farm Credit Association and was active in various farm
organizations. He was a 4-H leader for 22 years. A veteran of World War
II and the Korean Conflict, he served in the U.S. Navy. He received his
BS in dairy husbandry from Penn State University in 1950. Funeral
services will he held at 10:30 am. Wednesday. Dec. 18, at the Upper
Spruce Creek Presbyterian Church. with the Rev. Kim MacInnes-Green
officiating. Interment will he made in Graysville Cemetery, Franklin
Township.
