CHARLES ELWOOD CROTSLEY
Saltillo, Pa.

Miller:  Charles Elwood Crotsley was born in Cass Township, Huntingdon 
County, Pa., September 8, 1885, and at the Cass Township Schools received his 
education.  His grandfather was William Crotsley, and Esther McClain his 
grandmother on the parental side.  He is a son of John D. Crotsley, who died 
February 15, 1928, of Welsh descent, and of Ellen (McClain) Crotsley, who 
died November 30, 1904, of Irish descent.  Charles Elwood Crotsley was a 
farmer for fifteen years, in Cass Township.  A farm of forty-five acres.  
Formerly was employed at Altoona, Pa. for Penna. R.R. shops, at press work.  
Has been engaged in the milling business for twelve years at Saltillo, 
Huntingdon County, Pa.; manufactures Flavo Brand Flour, which is copyrighted, 
and a dealer in Purina and Wayne feeds.  Was Assessor for Cass Township, and 
on election board of same township for three terms.  For six years Councilman 
at Saltillo, Huntingdon County, Pa.  Belongs to Camp 662, P.O.S. of A., Latta 
Grove.  For twenty-seven years a member; has filled all offices.  Leans to 
the Republican party.  Very much a churchman of the Methodist type.  Has been 
trustee, steward, and previously S.S. Superintendent, Cornelius Chapel, Cass 
Township.  He has two brothers, Samuel J., married to Irma Senft, Altoona, 
Pa.; John W., married to Clara Dell, deceased, Altoona, Pa.  Mr. Crotsley was 
married to Myrtle Querry, Cass Township.  Three children came to gladden this 
home.  Helen M., a Senior, Saltillo High School; H. Pauline, a Junior, in 
High School, and Charles Kenneth, at school.  At present Mr. Crotsley is 
building a beautiful bungalow, cottage style, at the Newton Hamilton Camp 
grounds, Newton Hamilton, Mifflin County, Pa.
