EX-SHERIFF WILLIAM MARK CORBIN
Juniata Township, Huntingdon County, Pa.

Ex-Sheriff of Huntingdon County: Born October 12, 1873, in Juniata Township, 
at the mouth of the Raystown Branch.  Most of his life was spent on the farm, 
and at the Corbin school house he was educated.  Abram Corbin, his father, 
died in 1902.  His mother, Harriet E. (Mark) Corbin, died in 1909.  American 
born.  Has been a car repairman for the Penna. R.R.  A merchant, groceries, 
Huntingdon, Pa.  A road supervisor, Juniata Township, and Sheriff of 
Huntingdon County.  Filled that office in a creditable manner.  Elected by a 
substantial margin, service on the election board, Juniata Township.  A 
Republican.  He and his wife are Baptists.  Belongs to Knights of Pythias, 
Blue Cross Cross Lodge No. 295, Huntingdon, Pa.; B.P.O. Elks, No. 976, 
Huntingdon, Pa.; F. P. Hommon Post, American Legion, No. 24, Huntingdon, Pa.  
Military service in Co. A, 5th Inf., N.G.P., October 15, 1892, to October 15, 
1898.  Private to Sergeant, Co. F, 8th Inf., N.G.P., July 7, 1910, to March 
20, 1916.  Commissioned Second Lieutenant, March 20, 1916.  Entered Mexican 
border service, July 9, 1916, World War, July 15, 1917, Co. F, 112 Inf., 28th 
Division, until honorably discharged. Has brothers, D. M. Corbin, Juniata 
Township, and James H. Corbin, 427 Moore St., Huntingdon, Pa.  Also deceased 
brothers.  He was married to Mary Henry at Huntingdon, Pa.  Children are:  
Maria, married to S. P. Rittenhouse, Mill  Creek, Pa.; Horace C., married to 
Ocie Mountain, Orbisonia, Pa.; A. W., married to Florence Little, Bedford, 
Pa.; Mabel and Max H., at home.  Ex-Sheriff Corbin ranks high among his 
fellow men.
