HOWARD WILLIAM CHILCOTE
Mapleton Depot, Pa.

The name of Chilcote is very familiar throughout the county, and more 
especially the central and southern part, a thrifty and industrious class.  
Among them is that of Mr. Howard William Chilcote, of Mapleton Depot.  Mr. 
Chilcote was born at Lucy Furnace, July 1, 1887.  His early schooling was 
attained at the Mapleton schools.  His father's name was O. C. Chilcote, and 
he was married to Emma Diggins, of Mapleton Depot.  Mr. Howard Chilcote is 
American born, and was formerly employed by the Pennsylvania Glass Sand 
Company, of Mapleton, Pa.  He was manager of the general store of B. F. 
Godard at Mapleton, Pa.  A member of the Methodist Church.  He has one 
brother, Clyde, and one sister, Queenie, married to West Nole, Altoona, Pa.  
One brother is deceased.  He was married to Mattie Himes.  One daughter, 
Esther May, eleven years old.  Mr. Chilcote is a Republican; also a member of 
the P.O.S. of A. and P.O. of A., Mapleton, and when time permits takes an 
active part in its affairs.  Hunting is his favorite sport.  Mr. Chilcote is 
well adapted for the carrying on of this business and takes an interest in 
the welfare of Mapleton Depot.
