WILLIAM G. CALDWELL
Mount Union, Pa.        

Cafe:  Born at Hollidaysburg, Pa., October 7, 1874.  A son of William P. and 
Cornelia (Keys) Caldwell, of Scotch-Irish parentage.  They resided at 
Hollidaysburg, Pa.  Both are deceased.  William G. Caldwell attended the 
Grade Schools of Hollidaysburg, Pa.  Has been a chef at various places.  
Altamonte Hotel, Pa.; Adam Kyles, Restaurant, Altoona; was there for three 
years; Windsor Hotel, Bellwood, Pa,; Germania Cafe, York, Pa.; Mal Stewart, 
Cafe, Altoona, Pa.  He was aboard the U.S. Marine vessel Virginia, which is 
state owned; there for ten months as chef; was steward in U.S. Marine and 
Public Health Service stationed at Baltimore, Maryland.  He has been a police 
officer.  He was with T. B. McFarland, Funeral Director, Hollidaysburg, Pa.  
Was five years engaged in restaurant business at Huntingdon, Pa., and at 
present is engaged in the restaurant business at Mount Union, Pa.  He has 
followed up catering to the public for over thirty years.  He belongs to the 
Baptist Church; was Sunday School Superintendent.  He was instrumental in 
organizing a Sunday School at Kistler, a suburb of Mount Union, Pa.  He was 
its superintendent.  He was married to Catharine Wallace, of Hollidaysburg, 
Pa.  They have two daughters, Leah J., with the Penna. R.R. Co. as a 
stenographer and rate clerk.  She was a graduate of the Mount Union High 
School.  Elizabeth, a graduate nurse, also a graduate of the Mount Union High 
School, married to Lieutenant Reed on U.S. Trenton, assigned to Asiatic 
Squadron.  Three sons:  Roland, a graduate of the Mount Union High School, 
assists his father in business; John, a graduate of the Mount Union High 
School, has finished his second year at Juniata College, Huntingdon, Pa; Jack 
enters his freshman year at the Mount Union High School at the age of twelve 
years.  One daughter is deceased, Fay, who died in infancy.  One son, Roan, 
died in infancy.  Mr. William Caldwell has the respect of the public.  A much 
experienced man in this line of business.
