CHARLES N. BROWN
Warrior Ridge, Huntingdon Co., Pa.

Assistant Superintendent:  Charles N. Brown was born at Altoona, Pa., July 19, 
1892.  His early schooling was at Huntingdon, Pa.  A son of William A. Brown, 
an instructor of music for twenty-nine years, and of Della C. Williams, of 
Smithfield township, Huntingdon Co., Pa.  Both are living.  Charles N. Brown 
followed various activities before entering the employ of the Penn Central 
Light and Power Co. at Warrior Ridge, Huntingdon Co., Pa.  He was a switchboard 
operator for nine years and has been Assistant Superintendent of four years.  
Is a Lutheran, wife also. During the World War was a switchboard operator at 
Penn Central Plant, Warrior Ridge.  He belongs to the Masonic Fraternity, Mt. 
Moriah Lodge NO. 300, Huntingdon, Pa.  He has four brothers:  Ralph H., married 
to Virginia Manspeaker.  He is a pressman at J.C. Blair's Stationery Co., 
Huntingdon, Pa.; Mirl, postal inspector, Pittsburgh, Pa., married to Helen 
Creswell; Paul, who conducts a laundry agency, Pittsburgh, Pa., married to 
Bertha Dick; Robert, switchboard operator, Saxton, Pa., married to Della 
Whitzel.  He has one sister, Mae, married to Charles McCummons, Altoona, Pa.;  
Anna and Ruth, at home.  Charles N. Brown was married to Hermena Hoffman, a 
daughter of John H. and Mary Hoffman, of Huntingdon, Pa.  They have one son, 
William R., who was twelve years of age on May 4th, 1929.  Mr. Brown since 
assuming this position has given complete satisfaction.  Baseball is his 
favorite recreation.
