MRS. JESSIE BAKER
Mapleton Depot, Huntingdon County, Pa.

On May 11, 1929, the Allegheny Region Anniversary Association, composed of Odd 
Fellows and sisterhood, the Rebekah's, a subordinate lodge, celebrated  their 
yearly anniversary.  And one who helped in no small way to make this meeting a 
success was that of Mrs. Jessie Baker.  It devolved upon her as District Deputy 
of the Huntingdon County Lodges to bend every effort to make it a success.  
This she accomplished with the help and co-operation of her sister members.  
She was born at Mapleton Depot, a daughter of John and Annie (Chilcoat) 
Montgomery, both residing at Mapleton Depot.  Mrs. Jessie Baker completed the 
prescribed course of Mapleton Depot.  She comes of an illustrious ancestry.  
Her forebears served in the French and Indian Wars; also the Civil War.  She 
was married to Harry Baker, who served for a period of time in the World War, 
stationed at Camp Wadsworth, Spartansburg, S.C.  Mr. and Mrs. Baker have one 
daughter, seven years of age, attending school.  He is engaged in business.  He 
is a member of the United Brethren Church.  Mrs. Baker the M.E. Church; is a 
member of the choir and President of class.  She is District Deputy President 
of Maple Glen Rebecca Lodge No. 392, was re-elected for 1929 and 1930; also 
P.O. of A., No. 171, of Mapleton Depot, Pa.  She has three brothers, Russell, 
Williamsburg, Pa., married to Lavina Brumbaugh; Clifton, at home; Charles, a 
Sophomore at Mt. Union High School. Also two sisters, Juniata, married to 
Wilbur Dysart, Mapleton Depot; Janet, married to Paul Henderson.
