FRANK THOMAS ALLENDER
Orbisonia, Pa.

Druggist:  Born on a day when the country at large was celebrating its 
independence, July 4, 1896.  A son of Howard V. Allender, a carpenter 
contractor.  Died 1929, and Sarah (Gorman) Allender, died 1907.  Frank Thomas 
Allender received his primary education at Williamsburg, Pa., and later 
attended and graduated at the University of Pittsburgh, Pa., in the class of 
1917.  He was employed at various places, was with W. K. G. Harris, of Altoona, 
Pa., for two years at Williamsburg, Pa., and for E. J. Black, of Altoona, Pa.: 
for one year at Williamsburg, Pa., for J. A. Simpson; for Peter G. Walters for 
one year at Pittsburgh, Pa.  He afterwards engaged in the drug business at 
Orbisonia, Pa., where he has succeded in building up a fast increasing 
business.  He is a member of the Presbyterian Church; his wife also.  He served 
on the School Board at Orbisonia, Pa., and belongs to the P.O.S. of A., 
Orbisonia, Pa., the F. & A.M. Cromwell Lodge, No. 572, Orbisonia, Pa.  Frank 
Thomas Allender was married to Esther C. Jones.  They have two daughters, 
Elizabeth Ann, ten years of age, and Mary Grace, eight years of age.  Both 
attend school.  Base ball he delights in when time will permit.
