The Carnesville Herald February 14, 1929
Mr. Neal Brown, prominent farmer of near Canon, received a painful wound in the
arm Wednesday night. According to information he was shot by his brother-in-law,
Marco Strickland who had gone to the Brown home and an argument ensued.

Brown was rushed to Brown Hospital in Royston where the bullet was removed from
his elbow. The bullet entered the lower part of the arm and ranged upward to the
elbow. It is thought that he will recover the use of his arm without serious
results.

A warrant was sworn out for Strickland and he was arrested by Sheriff Ertzberger
and placed in jail in connection to the shooting.
