Betty Jane Ackles Ripley

   (WEDOWEE) Memorial services and visitation for Betty Jane Ackles Ripley, 80, 
of Wedowee will be Monday, Feb. 14, 2005, from 5 until 7 p.m. at Wade Funeral 
Home of Moravia, N.Y.
   Mrs. Ripley died Sunday, Jan. 23, at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital in 
Anniston.
   Survivors include six daughters, Joan Waldron of Central Square, N.Y., Judy 
Fish of Wedowee, Julie Welch of Germantown, Md., Susan Walker of Winlock, 
Wash., Jan Ripley of Moravia and Jill Ripley of Tallahassee, Fla.; two sons, 
Walker Ripley of Cartersville, Ga., and Richard Ripley of Moravia; a sister, 
Grace Carroll of Frost Proof, Fla.; 22 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
   Mrs. Ripley was a native of Courtland, N.Y., born July 5, 1924, daughter of 
Fred Ackles and Hazel Farham Ackles.  She had lived in Wedowee for six years 
after leaving Georgia.  Mrs. Ripley was preceded in death be[by] her husband, 
Seth Ripley.

Meldarene Green
	
   (RIDGEVILLE, S.C.) Meldarene G. Green, 58, of Ridgeville, S.C., died Sunday, 
Jan. 23, 2005.  Services were at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, at Old Fort Baptist 
Church, Summerville, S.C.
   Mrs. Green was born June 1, 1946, in Randolph County, daughter of the late 
Guy and Lois Yarbrough Gay.  She was married Aug. 19, 1967, to James E. Green, 
who survives.  Mrs. Green was a retired service representative with BellSouth 
Telephone Company, was a member of the BellSouth Pioneers of America and Old 
Fort Baptist Church.
   In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Julia Ann 
McCrakcin of Cottageville, S.C.; two sisters, Geraldine Heard of Oxford, Ala., 
and Kathy King of Dalton, Ga.; and two grandchildren.
   Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 409 King 
St., Charleston, SC 29403.

Emma Prince Wright

   (WADLEY) Services for Emma Prince Wright, 84, of Wadley, formerly of 
Tallassee, will be Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005, at 1 p.m. at Wadley First United 
Methodist Church, with the Rev Abi Wilke officiating.  Burial will follow at 
Elam Baptist Church Cemetery in East Tallassee at approximately 3 p.m.
   The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7:30 p.m. on 
Monday.  Mrs. Wright will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to 
services.
   Mrs. Wright died Sunday, Jan. 30, at Traylor Nursing Home in Roanoke.
   Survivors include three daughters, Judy W. Bethea of Montgomery, Barbara W. 
Whatley of Tuskegee and Shirley W. Cotney of Wadley; a special granddaughter, 
Amber Wright Rowe, whom she raised from infancy; ten grandchildren; and 13 
great-grandchildren.
   Mrs. Wright was born in St. Clair County on March 21, 1920, daughter of 
George W. Prince and Nancy Hutchins Prince.  She was preceded in death by her 
parents; her husband, Archie Wright; two sons, Cecil E. Wright and Kenneth A. 
Wright; two sisters, Lollie Wilson and Lorene Strickland; and a brother, George 
Prince.

George Bryant

   (ROANOKE) George Bryant, 79, a resident of Lineville Nursing Home, formerly 
of Roanoke, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005 at Lineville Nursing Home.
   Services will be Tuesday, Feb. 1, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Olive United Methodist 
church in the Dickert community, with the Revs. L. B. Houston and Calvin 
Trammell officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
   Mr. Bryant is survived by his wife, Bessie Stegall of Roanoke; five 
daughters, Mary Hunter, Janice Bryant and Stacy Dozier of Roanoke, Mary Ann 
Foster of LaGrange, Ga., and Sherry Higgins of LaFayette; two sons, Henry L. 
Bryant of New Haven, Conn., and Michael Bryant of Roanoke; his stepmother, Ruth 
Grimmett of Tuskegee; five sisters, Dorothy Georgian, Annie Grimmett and Vickie 
Stamps of Detroit, Mich., Fannie Geters of New Brunswick, N.J., and Bernice 
Grimmett of Tuskegee; two brothers, Aaron Grimmett and J.W. Grimmett of 
Tuskegee; 22 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
   The family will receive friends at Roanoke Funeral Home on Monday from noon 
until 7 p.m.

Paul Bernard 'Nick' Nicholson

   (WEDOWEE) Memorial services for Paul Bernard "Nick" Nicholson, 90, of 
Wedowee were Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005, at 7 p.m. at Brown & Kughn Memory Chapel 
with Robert Richards officiating.
   Mr. Nicholson died Friday, Jan. 28, in Wedowee.
   Survivors include four daughters, Edna LeCroy of Heflin, Paula Brown and 
Joyce Morrow of Lineville, and Diane Nicholson of Spokane, Wash.; a son, Larry 
Wayne Nicholson of Ranburne; a sister, Mary Lee Lester of Alexandria; four 
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
   Mr. Nicholson was a Carrollton, Ga., native and a former Calhoun County 
resident.  He lived in Cleburne County for 50 years and in Wedowee for the past 
25 years.  He was a World War II veteran, serving with the 383 Bomb Group.  He 
was preceded in death by a son, Raymond Nicholson; a brother, Edward Nicholson; 
and three sisters, Jennie Bell Lovvorn, Edna Pitts and Nellie McCrae.
   The family requests no flowers.  Memorials may be made to the Hollis Fire 
and Rescue, 9020 Hwy. 431, Heflin, AL 36264.

Frank Cosper

   (GRAHAM) Frank Cosper, 76, of Graham, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005, at 
Tanner Medical Center, Carrollton, Ga.
   He was born in Randolph County June 18, 1928, son of the late Ira and Ola 
Treadwell Cosper.  He was a member of Bethlehem Campground United Methodist 
Church and was a retired employee of Southwire Company.
   In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean 
Hanson Cosper; a son, Frankie Cosper; and a brother, Whit Cosper.
   Survivors include two daughters, Peggy Jordan of Graham and Bonnie McCoy of 
Luthersville, Ga; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, 
Hazel Noles of Graham, Marboline Cowart of Ben Hill, Ga., and Shirley Bruce of 
Jonesboro, Ga.
   Services will be Saturday, Jan. 29, at 2 p.m. EST at Campground United 
Methodist Church, with the Revs. Jerry Wiggins, Ray Runyan and Jimmy Holmes 
officiating.  Music will be by Emma Wiggins and the church choir.
   Pallbearers will be Greg Bolton, Marty McLeod, Kirk McLeod, Randall McCoy, 
Jerit Bonds, Lyndon Noles, Bill Jordan, Gary Dalrymple and Justin Bonds.
   He will be at the funeral home until being placed in state at the church at 
1:30 p.m.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

   (ROANOKE) Services for Nonnie Ruth Yarbrough, 88, of Roanoke will be Monday,

William Dean officiating.  Burial will follow in Randolph Memory Gardens.

to 8 p.m.
   Mrs. Yarbrough died Saturday, Jan. 29, at Traylor Nursing Home, Roanoke.
   Survivors include two daughters, Cupidean Bailey of Roanoke and Hildreth 
Schwiening of Opelika; one son, Tommy Dorsey Yarbrough of Roanoke; one sister, 
Nellie Smith of Fayetteville, Ga.; one brother, Charles Gordon Shaw of 
Jonesboro, Ga.; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
   Pallbearers will be Ben Schwiening, Charles W. Dunson Jr., Philip Dunson, 
John Leroy Bailey, Al Rector and Don McBrayer.
   Mrs. Yarbrough was born Feb. 25, 1916, daughter of Ambus D. and Dollie Ann 
Moses Shaw.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Roanoke and a former 
self-employed hair-dresser.  Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made 
to First Baptist Church of Roanoke in her memory.  She was preceded in death by 
her husband, Dorsey Yarbrough.

Garry Alven Roberts Sr.

   (HEFLIN) A memorial service for Garry Alven Roberts Sr., 47, of Heflin will 
be Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, with the Rev. 
Chris Mitchell officiating.
   Mr. Roberts died Saturday, Jan. 22, at his home.
   Survivors include two daughters, Shanna Marie "Sunshine" Roberts of Auburn 
and Amanda Dawn Roberts of Heflin; two sons, Shane Paul Trabbold and Brian 
Trabbold of Philadelphia, Pa.; his mother, Sybel Roberts of Carrollton, Ga.; 
one brother, Larry Roberts of Carrollton; six grandchildren and one great-
grandchild.
   Mr. Roberts was born Oct. 14, 1957, in Tennessee.  He was a mechanic in the 
U.S. Navy.  Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by a son, Garry Alven Roberts Jr.

James Red' Taylor

   (ROANOKE) Services for James Red Taylor, 84, of Roanoke will be Saturday, 
Jan. 29, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, with the Rev. Frank Sledge 
and the Rev. Richard Richie officiating.  Burial will follow at Randolph Memory 
Gardens.
   The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. 
on Friday.
   Mr. Taylor died Wednesday, Jan. 26, at his home.
   Survivors include his wife, Louise Nolen Taylor of Roanoke; one daughter, 
Diane Taylor of Augusta, Ga.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
   Pallbearers will be Steve Nobley, Terry Brown, Tommy Fields, Tommy Fincher, 
Randy Gann and Harold Heard.
   Mr. Taylor was born Nov 20, 1920, son of Joseph and Pearl Dye Taylor.  He 
was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and a former textile elevator operator 
for Handley Mills.

Nellie Lee Hale

   (BAYTOWN, Texas) Nellie Lee Hale, 91, of Baytown, Texas, died Wednesday, 
Jan. 26, 2005, at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown.
   Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 29, at 4 p.m. at Johnson Brown-
Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley with Dr. Jerome King officiating.  Burial 
will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Lanett.
   She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Warner and Gail Hale of 
Baytown; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-
grandchildren.
   Mrs. Hale was born Feb. 21, 1913, in Wedowee.  Prior to moving to Baytown, 
Mrs. Hale had been a resident of Valley for more than 60 years.  She was a 
member of First Baptist Church of Valley and a retired employee of WestPoint 
Pepperell.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Warner Kite Hale, and her 
daughters, Sarah Sanders and Juanita Alexander.

James Roy Halsey

   (ROANOKE) Services for James Roy Halsey, 90, of Roanoke were Tuesday, Jan. 
18, 2005, at 2 p.m. at New Hope Christian Church, with the Rev. Zenus Windsor, 
Don Quick and Stoney Halsey officiating.  Burial was in New Hope Cemetery.
   Mr. Halsey died Sunday, Jan. 16, at LaFayette Nursing Home.
   Survivors include two daughters, JoAnn Halsey of Roanoke and Margaret Stout 
of Pleasant Grove; two granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; one sister, 
Pauline Wortham of Baxley, Ga.; and one brother, Ray Halsey of Roanoke.
   Pallbearers were Tim Sprayberry, Danny Sprayberry, Daryl Harmon, David 
Harmon, Roy Sparks and David Tidwell.  New Hope Cemetery Trust Fund directors 
were honorary pallbearers: Richard Green, Manley Clack, Herbert Clark, Harold 
Adair, Wayne Stephens, JoAnn Stewart and Donald Tidwell.
   Mr. Halsey was born Feb. 6, 1914, son of Henry and Eula Mae Clack Halsey.  
He was a member of New Hope Christian Church, had been employed by Lanett 
Dyeworks, and was a World War II Army veteran and a recipient of the Purple 
Heart.  Mr. Halsey was preceded in death by his wife, Lottie Louise Clark 
Halsey.  Memorial donations may be made to New Hope Church or EAMC Hospice.

   Mrs. Yates died Tuesday, Jan. 25, at Beverly Health Care in Oxford.

and Spike Vance of Brandon, Fla., Jean and John Thomas of Newnan, Ga., Dr. Paul

N.C.; 22 great-nieces and nephews; 24 great-great-nieces and nephews; 
caregivers, Mary, Tommy and Billy Craft; three sisters-in-laws, Emma Shoffeitt 
of Bynum, Helen Shoffeitt of Bowdon, Ga., and Clois Shoffeitt of Auburn.

   Mrs. Yates was born Nov. 9, 1914, daughter of Mont and Jonnie Williams 
Shoffeitt.  She was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church and formerly a seamstress 
for Breman and Bowdon Investment.  She was preceded in death by one sister, 
Cora Murphy, and five brothers, Ernest, Harold, Monroe, Milton and Paul 
Shoffeitt.

Charlie Lewis Ferrell

   (ROANOKE) Services for Charlie Lewis Ferrell, 74, of Roanoke will be Friday, 
Jan. 28, 2005, at 1 p.m. at New Harmony Baptist Church, LaFayette, with the 
Revs. Jerome Trammell, William H. Trammell and Robert L. Heflin officiating.  
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
   Mr. Ferrell died Tuesday, Jan. 25, at George H. Lanier Memorial Hospital in 
Valley.
   Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Ferrell of Roanoke; a sister, Bonnie 
Cook of Birmingham; a special friend, Wesley Pearson; and a host of nieces and 
nephews.  He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie Joe Ferrell and 
Johnny B. Ferrell.
   Visitation will be at Clark Memorial Funeral Service, Roanoke, from 10 a.m. 
to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 27.  The body will be placed in the church one hour 
before the funeral services.

Lillian S. Mathews

   (VALLEY) Lillian S. Mathews, 91, of Valley died Monday, Jan. 31, 2005, at 
Lanier Memorial Nursing Home.
   Mrs. Mathews was born in Chambers County Sept. 15, 1913, daughter of the 
late Woody Pearl Powers Sims and John Sims.  She was a retired employee of Palm 
Beach Company in Roanoke and had been a very active member of First Baptist 
Church of Shawmut, where she taught Sunday school for many years.
   Surviving are a daughter, Virginia Hollis of Valley; four grandchildren and 
four great-grandchildren.
   Services will be at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley at 
11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 2, with burial in Fairfax Cemetery.  Dr. Jerome King 
will officiate.
   The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at 
Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.

James A. Buck' Daniel

   (ALEXANDER CITY) Funeral services for James A. Buck Daniel, 79, of 
Alexander City will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, at Hillabee Baptist 
Church.  The Revs. Bobby Anderson, Donald Bailey and Don Gentry will 
officiate.  Burial will follow in the Hillview Memorial Park.  He will lie 
instate for one hour at the church prior to the service.  Visitation will be 
from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, at Radney Funeral Home.
   Mr. Daniel died Monday, Jan. 24, at his home in Alexander City.  Buck was 
born Feb. 10, 1925, in Clanton to Calvin and Ester Daniel.  He served during 
World War II as a Naval shipman in the Pacific.  After the war, he worked 
various jobs in Clanton as a peach farmer, furniture storeowner and a banker.  
In 1958 he opened the first Dairy Queen in Alabama in Clanton.  In 1960 he 
moved to Alexander City to establish The Dairy Quick fast food chain.  He was a 
true entrepreneur.  He quickly had Dairy Quicks in Alexander City, Sylacauga, 
Lineville, Roanoke, Dadeville and Wadley.  His creation of "The Buck Burger" 
was his trademark and was enjoyed by millions of people.  He loved serving the 
public, especially young people.  His business was his ministry, to spread the 
love and joy of his Savior Jesus Christ.
   He is survived by one daughter, Kathy Black of Birmingham; three sons, David 
Daniel of Centerville, Gary Daniel and Paul Daniel of Alexander City; one 
brother, Curtis Daniel of Georgia; one sister, Sara Edwards of Clanton; ten 
grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his 
wife of 51 years, Norma C. Daniel.
   Pallbearers will be Alan Daniel, Jimmy Daniel, Michael Daniel, Micah Daniel, 
Daniel Black, Bradley Daniel, Joshua Black and Brandon Sonnier.  Honorary 
pallbearers will be Jeremy Redmon, Megan Daniel Sonnier, Anna Daniel Redmon and 
Cheryl Black.

Alexander Jackson Bryant

   (MUNFORD) Services for Alexander Jackson Jack Bryant, 65, of Munford will

service time at the funeral home.
   Mr. Bryant died Monday, Jan. 24, at his home.
   Survivors include two sisters, Inez Adams of Roanoke and Martha Hyde of 
Munford; three brothers, George Bryant Jr. and Edward Bryant of Anniston and 
James Bryant of Roanoke; two brothers-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.
   Pallbearers will be Barry Hyde, Larry Hyde, Waylon Hyde, Brett Hyde, Bryan 
Epperson and Michael Bryant.
   Mr. Bryant, a lifelong Talladega County resident, was Baptist.  He was 
preceded in death by his parents, George W. Bryant Sr. and Grace Suggs Bryant; 
and three sisters, Melba Blankenship, Mary Brooks and Hellon Lahnert.

Vivian Virginia Cunningham

   (ROANOKE) Services for Vivian Virginia Cunningham, 83, of Roanoke will be 
Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2005, at 11 a.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel, with the 
Rev. Tommy Gene Young officiating.  Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery.
   The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m. on 
Wednesday.
   Mrs. Cunningham died Monday, Feb. 7, at Randolph Medical Center, Roanoke.
   Survivors include one daughter-in-law, Judy Cunningham of Forest Park, Ga.; 
two grandchildren, Mark Cunningham of Roanoke and Vicky Holmes of McDonough, 
Ga.; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lathan Brown of Osceola, Ark.
   Mrs. Cunningham was born Dec. 12, 1921, daughter of Larkin and Pearl Fetner 
Key.  She was a member of Forest Home Christian Church and a former seamstress 
at Playtex.  Mrs. Cunningham was preceded in death by her husband, Harold 
Clifford Cunnigham[Cunningham]; and one son, Harold Lee Cunningham.

James Carie Veal

   (ROANOKE) Services for James Carie Veal, 75, of Roanoke, formerly of 
LaGrange, Ga., were Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral 
Chapel, with the Rev. Stoney Halsey officiating.  Burial was at Restlawn 
Cemetery in LaGrange.
   Mr. Veal died Friday, Feb. 4, at Traylor Nursing Home, Roanoke.
   Survivors include his wife, Sarah Udine Noles Veal of Roanoke; two sons, 
Virgil Owen Veal of Roanoke and Mike Veal of LaGrange; three sisters, Florence 
Chase and Libby Lowry of Roanoke and Betty Miller of Brillant; one brother, 
Junior Veal of Roanoke; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
   Pallbearers were Freedie Koone, Randy Nation, Mike Alsobrook, Ricky Veal, 
Larry Wilson, Jim Brown, Danny Phillips and Jeff Veal.
   A Randolph County native, Mr. Veal was born Jan. 20, 1930, son of Luther and 
Minnie Pearl Brown Veal.  He was of the Baptist faith and a former beamer 
operator for West Point Pepperell.  Mr. Veal was preceded in death by five 
brothers and three sisters.

Thomas Ned Thompson

   (CEDAR BLUFF) Services for Thomas Ned Thompson, 71, of Cedar Bluff, formerly 
of Douglas County, Ga., were Monday, Feb. 7, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Perry Funeral 
Home Chapel.  Masonic graveside rites followed at Weiss Lake Memory Gardens.  
The eulogy was given by Johnny Law and Myrna Thompson.
   Mr. Thompson died Friday, Feb. 4, at Redmond Regional Medical Center in 
Rome, Ga.
   Survivors include his wife, Flora Thompson; three sons, Tommy Thompson of

   Mr. Thompson, a native of Douglas County, Ga., was of the Baptist faith.  He 
was a retired truck driver.  He served with the 101st Airborne in the Army.

   (VALLEY) Earlene Nelson Lauderdale, 71, of Valley died Thursday, Feb. 3, 
2005, at George H. Lanier Memorial Hospital in Valley.
   Funeral services were Saturday, Feb. 5, at 2 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service 
Funeral Home Chapel in Valley with the Rev. Marvin Cantrell officiating.  
Burial followed in Osanippa Baptist Church Cemetery.
   Mrs. Lauderdale is survived by one son, Gerald Clark of Valley, one 
daughter, Karen Sims of Lanett; one sister, Kathleen Cook of Lanett; one 
brother, Merle Leon Nelson of Lanett; three grandchildren and one great-
grandchild.
   Mrs. Lauderdale was born May 13, 1933, in Wedowee.  She was a former 
employee of Chalkline and WestPoint Pepperell.  Mrs. Lauderdale was preceded in 
death by two brothers, Burl Nelson and Alton Nelson; her parents, Dempcie and 
Paralee Woodard Nelson; and a sister, Ermise Sturges.  She was a member of 
Osanippa Baptist Church.

Pauline 'Polly' Phillips Lanier

   (LAGRANGE, Ga.) Pauline "Polly" Lanier, 82, of LaGrange, Ga., died Monday, 
Jan. 31, 2005, at West Georgia Medical Center, LaGrange.
   Mrs. Lanier was born Jan. 9, 1923, in Randolph County, Ala., daughter of the 
late James Fletcher and Mattie Hester Phillips.  She had lived in LaGrange most 
of her life and was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church.  She retired from the 
Hillside Plant of Milliken & Company after 39 years.  She was a member of the 
Pleasant Grove Quilting Guild.
   Survivors include one daughter, Kay Carlisle of LaGrange; a son, Phillip 
Arrington of Pine Mountain, Ga.; a grandson; two sisters, Mozelle Hallmark of 
Franklin, Ga., and Ruth Janney of LaGrange; a brother, Bobby Phillips of 
LaGrange; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her 
husband, Gussie W. Lanier.
   Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Hunter-Allen-Myhand Chapel 
with pastor Karen Watts officiating.  Burial was in Restlawn Memory Gardens.

   (ROANOKE) Services for Albert Ed Hay, 73, of Roanoke, formerly of

   Mr. Hay died Tuesday, Feb. 1, at East Alabama Medical Center, Opelika.

Hay of Valley; two daughters, Stacy Mapp of Roanoke and Barbara Ann Bachman of 
Bainbridge, Ga.; three step-daughters, Sherry Conville, Vicky Vincent and

   An Elmore County native, Mr. Hay was born July 21, 1931, son of William H. 
and Emme Royal Hay.  He was a member of Central Baptist Church in Lanett and 
retired as chief of police for the Town of Wedowee.  He was preceded in death 
by a son, Ricky Hay.

   (ANNISTON) Services with full military honors for Jerry D. Price, 64, of 
Anniston were at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005, at Anniston Memorial Funeral

Gardens.
   Mr. Price died Monday, Jan. 31, at his home.
   Survivors include his wife, Betty S. Price; three sons, Jerry D. Price Jr.,

Culberson of Oxford; three brothers, Henry Scott Price of San Antonio, Gary

   Mr. Price was Baptist. He retired from the Army with 20 years service and

   (ROANOKE) Judelia Heflin, 101, a resident of Roanoke Healthcare Center, 
Roanoke died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005, at Randolph Medical Center.

Wadley, with the Rev. Calvin Trammell and the Rev. Robert L. Heflin 
officiating.  Interment will be in the church cemetery.

6 p.m. Friday, with the family hour Friday from 6 until 7 p.m.  The body will

J. Grant Parris

   (GARDENDALE) Rev. J. Grant Parris, 91, of Gardendale died Monday, Feb. 14, 
2005.
   Rev. Parris was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Parris.  He is 
survived by two sons, James Grant Parris and John Wesley Parris; three 
brothers, Bob Parris, Junior Parris and Alton Parris; a sister, Sarah Burdette; 
six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
   Rev. Parris served as a Methodist minister in the North Alabama United 
Methodist Conference for 44 years.  He served at United Methodist churches in 
Talladega, Piedmont, Mt. Vernon, Central Park, Avondale and Fort Payne.  Rev. 
Parris also served as the district superintendent in the Anniston District for 
six years.
   Services will be Thursday, Feb. 17, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Vernon United 
Methodist Church, Gardendale, with the Revs. Mark Parris, Rudy Guess and Bill 
Wolfe officiating.  Burial will be at Midway Cemetery, Wedowee. Visitation will 
be Thursday from 10 to 11 at the church.

Martha Todd Caswell

   (LAGRANGE, Ga.) Martha Todd Caswell, 81, of LaGrange, Ga., died Saturday, 
Feb. 12, 2005, at the Brian Center.
   Mrs. Caswell was born June 30, 1923, in LaGrange and was the daughter of the 
late James H. and Bessie O'Phillips Todd.  She has worked 20 years in the Dixie 
Cotton Mill and seven years at Signal Knitting Mill.  Mrs. Caswell was preceded 
in death by her husband of 55 years, Wayne J. Caswell, and was of the Baptist 
faith.
   Survivors include her two sisters, Lessie Mae Berry of College Park, Ga., 
and Jo Cincotti of Roanoke; two brothers, Bud Todd of LaGrange and Bob Todd of 
Mississippi.
   Graveside services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, at Shadowlawn Cemetery 
with Dr. Ralph Taylor officiating.

   (LAGRANGE, Ga.) Billy Jack Spradlin, 66, of LaGrange, Ga., died Saturday, 
Feb. 12, 2005.
   Mr. Spradlin was born April 11, 1938, in Randolph County, Ala., and was the 
son of the late Lee Hoyt and Lola Beatrice Runells Spradlin.  He was employed 
with the Valway Plant of Milliken Company.  Mr. Spradlin attended the Light 
House Church of God.
   Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Marvolene Gosdin Spradlin of 
LaGrange; a daughter, Susan Dearing of Hogansville, Ga.; a son, Jackie Spradlin 
of Franklin, Ga.; three grandchildren; three sisters, Jessie Foster of Roanoke, 
Jane Holloway of Woodland and Eula Smith of Fitzgerald, Ga.

Cottle, formerly of Roanoke, and Herbert and Mildred K. Carter.

   (LANETT) Ruby Norred Adams, 83, of Lanett died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005, at 
Care Center of Opelika.

Church with the Rev. Jeff McCartney and Mr. Dennis Harmon officiating.  Burial 
followed in the church cemetery.
   Mrs. Adams is survived by two daughters, Rita Taylor of Lanett and Betty 
Foster of Valley; one son, Wayne Adams of Five Points; two sisters, Myrtle 
Newman of West Point, Ga., and Julie Harrison of Clarksville, Tenn.; nine 
grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
   Born Feb. 14, 1921, in Randolph County, Mrs. Adams was the daughter of the 
late Bertha Smith Norred and George Norred.  She was a homemaker.  Mrs. Adams 
was a member of Reeds Chapel Baptist Church.

   Mr. White is survived by four daughters, Hazel Henson of Pine Mountain, Ga.,

Claremore, Okla.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and two great-
great-grandchildren.
   Born April 29, 1909, in Randolph County, Mr. White was the son of the late 
John Wesley White and Sarah Amanda Bailey White.  He was a retired employee of 
West Point Pepperell's Langdale Mill.  Mr. White was a member of First Baptist 
Church of Shawmut.

James Willard Albright

   (ANNISTON) Services for James Willard Albright, 85, of Anniston were at 2 
p.m. Monday, Feb. 14, 2005, at Smyrna Baptist Church in Newell with Brian Smith

Chapel of Anniston in charge.  Mr. Albright died Friday, Feb. 11, in Anniston.
   Survivors include his wife, Wilma Deane Albright of Anniston; three 
daughters, Janie A. Morrow of Anniston, Ann A. Hollingsworth of Nashville, 
Tenn., and Laura A. Phillips of Anniston; a brother, Jerry F. Albright of 
Newell; and three grandchildren.
   Pallbearers were Thomas Johnson, Brian Hardin, Bill Carpenter, Joe Vitoe, 
Rudy Paul Yates, Hollis Hall, Jerry Hays, Larry Morrow, Lamar Hollingsworth and

   Mr. Albright was a Randolph County native and had lived in Calhoun County 55 
years.  He was a veteran of World War II, where he served in the Pacific and 
Atlantic Theaters, the European Campaign and the Aleutian Islands in Alaska.  
He retired from the Anniston Ordnance Depot with 3.0 years of service.  After 
retiring he researched and documented the genealogical history of his family 
and of several families and churches in Randolph County, and a history of the 
county itself.  He volunteered at Stringfellow Hospital for six years and 
delivered Meals on Wheels.  He was an award-winning left-handed golfer and an 
avid supporter of the March of Dimes and other charities.
   He was preceded in death by his parents, James Oscar and Janney Stillwell 
Albright; a sister, Dorothy McManus and a brother, Dan Albright.

Dennis Grant Hester

   (LAGRANGE, Ga.) Dennis Grant Hester Sr., 43, of LaGrange, Ga., died 
Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2005, at Hospice LaGrange.
   Mr. Hester was born Dec. 11, 1961, son of Woodrow Jr. and Linda Hester.  He 
was an electric motor repairman for Smith & Gray Electric and he was a Baptist.
   Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his daughter, Tiffany Hester 
of Portage, Ind.; son, Dennis Grant Hester Jr. of LaGrange; a brother, Jeff 
Hester of LaGrange; a sister, Allison Paige Worthy of Roanoke; his 
grandmothers, Ethelene Hester and Laverne Yarbrough, both of LaGrange; two 
grandsons; several nieces and nephews and friends.

   (GREENVILLE, Ga.) Services for Ralph Leon Brown, 74, of Greenville, Ga., 
formerly of LaGrange, Ga., were Friday, Feb. 11, 2005, at 10 a.m. at 
Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel, Roanoke, with the Rev. S.T. Janney officiating.  
Burial followed at Big Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
   Mr. Brown died Wednesday, Feb. 9, at West Georgia Medical Center, LaGrange.
   Survivors include one uncle, Dewey Morris of LaGrange, Ga.; caregiver Tanya 
Cotton Ford of Greenville; special friends, Joe and Daphney Page of LaGrange; 
and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
   Mr. Brown was born Feb. 8, 1931, son of John William Rois and Maude Morris 
Brown.  He was a member of Big Springs Baptist Church.

David Browning Jr.

   (TALLADEGA) Services for David Browning Jr., 73, of Talladega were at 2 p.m. 
Friday, Feb. 11, 2005, at Clay County Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Mitchell 
officiating.  Burial was in Mount Zion Cemetery.
   Mr. Browning died Tuesday, Feb. 8, at his home.
   Survivors include his wife, Willie Ruth Browning; six daughters, Carolyn 
Johnson of LaFayette, Susan Fowler and Martha Fowler of Talladega, Sandra 
Harris of Sylacauga, and Judy Strickland and Donna Saffold of Alexander City; a 
son, Jimmy Browning of Ashland; two sisters, Faye Screws of Wadley and Ruby 
Mitchell of Ashland; three brothers, Gene Browning of Wadley, Frank Browning of 
Talladega and Wayne Browning of Alexander City; 17 grandchildren and 21 great-
grandchildren.
   Pallbearers were grandsons and sons-in-law.
   Mr. Browning, a Clay County native and longtime Talladega resident, was a 
member of Chandler Springs Assembly of God Church.  He retired from Madix 
Manufacturing Company in Goodwater.

David Fulghum

   (WEST POINT, Ga.) David Fulghum, 81, of West Point, Ga., died Tuesday, Feb. 
8, 2005, at West Georgia Medical Center, LaGrange.
   Funeral services were Friday, Feb. 11, at 2 p.m. at Happy Valley Baptist 
Church in Lanett with the Revs. Aaron McCollough and Rusty Letson officiating.  
Burial followed at Oakwood Cemetery in Lanett.
   Mr. Fulghum is survived by his wife, Winnie Wade Fulghum of West Point; one 
daughter, Vicki Morris of West Point; two grandsons; four adopted children, 
Judy and Waymond Garsee, Nicki and Bubba Freeman, Tim and Amy Brown and Jenilyn 
Brown, all of West Point; three sisters, Jo Ann Sanders of Lanett, Mary Wade of 
Roanoke and Manono Hogan of Hogansville, Ga.; one brother, Lamar Fulghum of 
Lanett; and a number of nieces and nephews.
   Born July 10, 1923, in Chambers County, Mr. Fulghum was the son of the late 
Lavonia Holloway Fulghum and Willie Fulghum.  He retired from the Lantuck 
Division of WestPoint Pepperell in Valley in July 1985 after 30 years of 
service.  He also worked for the Playtex Corporation in LaFayette for a short 
period of time.  Mr. Fulghum was an active member at Happy Valley Baptist 
Church in Lanett and was a member of Valley Masonic Temple 516.  After his 
retirement, he raised cattle on a farm in Fredonia.  Mr. Fulghum was an avid 
gardener and loved to fish.  He was a volunteer with Chattahoochee Hospice for 
more than 10 years.

Ruby Frances Stribling

   (VALLEY) Services for Ruby Frances Stribling, 93, of Valley will be 
Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Chapel, with the Rev.

   The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home, Wedowee, after 6 
p.m. on Wednesday.
   Mrs. Stribling died Tuesday; Feb. 15, at George H. Lanier Hospital in Valley.
   Pallbearers will be Terry Green, Bob Threadgill, Richard Eastridge, Donnie 
Owens, Colby Watford, Jim Green and Wayne Heard.
   Survivors include two daughters, Wilma Johnson of Dallas, Texas, and Minnie 
L. Green of Wedowee; two sons, Milton Halbert of Dallas and Robert Stribling 
Sr. of Valley; two brothers, Marvin Walton of Rolett, Texas, and Nathan Walton 
of  Texas; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
   Mrs. Stribling was born Jan. 1, 1912, daughter of Homer T. and Ethel L. 
White Walton.  She was a member of Johnson Chapel Baptist Church and a 
housewife.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Calvin Stribling; 
one daughter, Wanda Jean Lyles; and nine brothers and sisters.

Arrie Smith, 106

   (ROANOKE) Arrie Smith, 106, of Roanoke died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, at 
Wedowee Hospital.
   Services were Saturday, Feb. 19, at 1 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall in Roanoke 
with Bro. Joe Minniefield, officiating.  Interment was in Canaan Baptist Church 
Cemetery, Welch.
   A native of Randolph County, Mrs. Smith was born March 24, 1898.  She was 
the second child of 24 children and the last survivor.  Mrs. Smith was a 
faithful member of the Jehovah's Witnesses.
   Surviving are one sister-in-law, Willie Lee Smith of Roanoke; six 
generations of nieces and nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.

Gertrude Prescott Smith

   (WOODLAND) Services for Gertrude Prescott Smith, 88, of Woodland will be 
Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel, with the 
Rev. David Daniel officiating.  Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery.
   Mrs. Smith died Monday, Feb. 21, at Randolph Medical Center, Roanoke.
   Survivors include one son, James Smith of Ft. Pierce, Fla.; one sister, 
Gennie Ann Bassett of Georgia; one brother, Glover Prescott of Tennessee; eight 
grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
   Pallbearers will be Chuck Smith, Glenn Smith, Ted Smith, Daniel Smith, Chase 
Smith and Dale Dye.
   Mrs. Smith was born June 10, 1916, daughter of James and Lucy Sears 
Prescott.  She was a member of Providence Baptist Church and a homemaker.  Mrs. 
Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Smith; and a son, 
Cornelius Smith.

Charlie E. Mr. Cal' Calhoun

   (VALLEY) Charlie E. Mr. Cal Calhoun, 86, of Valley died Sunday, Feb. 20, 
2005, at George H. Lanier Memorial Hospital in Valley.
   Funeral services were Tuesday, Feb. 22, at 1 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service 
Funeral Home Chapel in Valley with the Rev. Ford Brown officiating. Burial 
followed at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
   Mr. Calhoun is survived by his wife, Eugenia S. Calhoun; two daughters, 
Linda McManus of Dadeville and Carol Turnham of Lanett; five grandchildren and 
eight great-grandchildren.
   Born June 19, 1918, in Randolph County, Mr. Calhoun was the son of the late 
Emma Prescott Calhoun and Holley C. Calhoun.  He was a retired employee of the 
water treatment plant in Lanett and had also worked at Givorns.  He was a 
member of Lanier Baptist Church, where he formerly served as a deacon and 
church treasurer.

Eldora McDaniel Turley

   (DELTA) Services for Eldora McDaniel Turley, 61, of Delta, were at 2 p.m. 
Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005, at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with the Revs. 
Bill Luke and David Holcombe officiating.  Burial was in the Shiloh Primitive 
Baptist Church Cemetery in Delta.
   Mrs. Turley died Saturday, Feb. 19, at the Clay County Hospital in Ashland.
   Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Kemp of Heflin and Wanda Hudgins of 
Newell; three sons, Jerry Turley of Heflin and Franklin Turley and Roger Turley 
of Delta; her mother, Lillian McDaniel of Ashland; five sisters, Clara Jean 
Parris of Ashland, Martha Jo Schulte of Pittsview and Christine Pate, Mary J. 
Pate and Charlotte Pate, all of Wedowee; three brothers, Glenn McDaniel of 
Heflin and William McDaniel and Clarence James McDaniel of Williamson, Ga.; 
nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
   Pallbearers were Robbie Parris, Marlon Parris, Jonathan Pate, Randy Pate, 
Derek Pate, Billy Parris, James Lee Parris and Frank Brown.
   Mrs. Turley, a Cleburne County native, had lived most of her life in Clay 
County.  She was a homemaker and a member of Green's Chapel Methodist Church.  
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Turley, and her father, Clarence 
McDaniel.

William Grady Edwards

   (NEWELL) Services for William Grady Edwards of Newell, 89, were held Friday, 
Feb. 18, 2005, at 11 a.m. from Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. Ridley 
Herren and the Rev. Donald Triplett officiating.  Burial followed at the 
adjoining cemetery.
   Mr. Edwards died Wednesday, Feb. 16, at his home.
   Survivors include one son, Jimmy Edwards of Phenix City; two grandchildren; 
four great-grandchildren; one sister, Pearlie Johnston of Bowdon, Ga.; three 
brothers, Ewell Roberts Edwards of Bessemer, Robert Roberts Edwards of Woodland 
and Charles Roberts of Oxford.
   Pallbearers were Tim Shelton, Quinten Traylor, Jerry Johnston, Roy Lee 
Lipham, Stephen Edwards and Kenneth Wiggins.
   Mr. Edwards was born March 17, 1915, son of William Irvin and Elizabeth Hale 
Edwards.  He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and a cattle farmer.  Mr. 
Edwards was preceded in death by his wife, Ina Lou Edwards and several brothers 
and sisters.  Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to Antioch

Thomas Wade Harris

   (ALEXANDRIA) Memorial services for Thomas Wade Harris, 45, of Alexandria 
were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005, at K.L. Brown Funeral Home & Cremation 
Center chapel, with Revs. Ridley Parmer and Roy E. Bryant officiating.
   Mr. Harris died Sunday, Feb. 20, at his home.
   Survivors include his wife, Kim Harris; two daughters, Ashley Harris and 
Abbey Harris of Alexandria; his mother, Polly Sue Lovvorn Harris of Woodland; a 
sister, Margaret Harris Jackson of Woodland; five nieces and three nephews.
   Pallbearers were Keith Holloway, Don Sanford, Scott Sanford, Mike Jackson, 
Paul Sanford, Ray Yarbrough, Garry Joe Barrett, Rodney Brown, Don Davis and 
Dwayne Palmer.
   Mr. Harris, a lifelong resident of Randolph County, was employed as an IE/IS 
manager at Designer Checks Inc. for the last eight years.  He was a graduate of 
Auburn University and State University of West Georgia.  He was a member of 
Ranburne United Methodist Church.  Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his 
father, Charlie Will Harris, and his grandparents, Guy and Fannie Harris and 
R.C. and Margie Lovvorn.

Rebecca Ann Brown

   (CARROLLTON, Ga.) Rebecca Becky Ann Brown, 62, of Carrollton, Ga., died 
Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005.
   She was born April 19, 1942, in Haralson County, Ga., to Pearl Dean Goldin 
and the late Tom Watson Goldin.  She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church in 
Buchanan, Ga., and had worked as a nurse for Carrollton Surgical Group with Dr. 
T. M. Martin, Dr. Jimmy Pope and Dr. James Ingram for more than 20 years and 
also worked as an industrial nurse at Gold Kist in Carrollton.  Becky enjoyed 
her grandchildren, reading, traveling and, above all, her family.  Besides her 
father, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Ernest Goldin of Draketown 
and Carl Bud Goldin.
   Survivors include her mother, Pearl Dean Goldin of Carrollton; a daughter, 
Leesa Copeland of Bremen, Ga.; two grandsons; two sisters, Clara McLain and 
Kathleen Smith; a brother Tommy C. Goldin, all of Carrollton; a very special 
friend, Joel Duke of Centralhatchee; and many other special nieces, nephews and 
friends.
   Funeral services were conducted Thursday, Feb. 17, at 2 p.m. at Martin & 
Hightower Heritage Chapel with the Rev. Wendell Rush and Thomas Lamar Goldin 
officiating.  Interment followed in Carroll Memory Gardens.

Willie Frank Sims

   (LaFAYETTE) Willie Frank Sims, 50, of LaFayette died Monday, Feb. 14, 2005, 
at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.
   Funeral services were Saturday, Feb. 19, at 1 p.m. CST at Greater Pine Hill 
Baptist Church with the Revs. Justin Freeman, pastor, and Ed Vines 
officiating.  Burial was at Skyview Cemetery.
   Mr. Sims is survived by his wife, Mrs. Shirley Sims of LaFayette; two sons, 
Demetrius Smith of LaGrange and Marcellus Sims of LaFayette; seven sisters, 
Josephine Finley, Rosie M. Crenshaw, Lora Sims, Jeanette Ross and Mary Finley, 
all of LaFayette, and Elizabeth Reese and Patricia Poole of Wadley; two 
brothers, James Sims of Roanoke and Jessie Sims of LaFayette; his mother-in-
law; three sisters-in-law; and four brothers-in-law.
   Mr. Sims was born June 23, 1954, in Chambers County.

Louis 'Hunn' Zachery

   (ANNISTON) Services for Louis "Hunn" Zachery, 95, of Anniston were at 1 p.m. 
Friday, Feb. 18, 2005, at New Life Christian Center in Ashland with Bishop 
Johnnie Sandlin officiating.  Burial was at County Line Baptist Church Cemetery 
in Wadley.
   Mr. Zachery died Saturday, Feb. 12, at Regional Medical Center.
   Survivors include two sons, Bobby Joe Zachery of Ashland and Marlon Carr of 
Anniston; four daughters, Roseanna Heard of Ashland, and Betty Taylor, Martha 
Jean Phillips and Sharlon Carr, all of Anniston; a stepdaughter, Katie Lou 
Simmons of Ashland; 24 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, and 32 great-
great-grandchildren.
   Pallbearers were grandsons.
   Mr. Zachery, a Tallapoosa County native and lifelong Alabama resident, was a 
member of County Line Baptist Church in Wadley.  He was preceded in death by 
his first wife, Jessie Lee Hardnett Zachery; and his second wife, Dollie Horton 
Zachery.

Ralph Taylor Jones

   (WADLEY) Services for Ralph Taylor Jones, 76, of Wadley, will be Thursday, 
Feb. 24, 2005, at 11 a.m. at Wadley First Methodist Church, with the Rev. 
Abigail Wilke officiating.  Mr. Jones will lie in state one hour before the 
service.  Burial will follow at Wadley City Cemetery.
   The family will receive friends at Quattlebaum Funeral Home, Roanoke, from 5 
to 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
   Mr. Jones died Monday, Feb. 21, at West Georgia Medical Center, LaGrange.
   Survivors include his wife, Leita Carlton Jones of Wadley; two daughters, 
Nancy Jones Vick of Watkinsville, Ga., and Lynn Jones White of Gastonia, N.C.; 
one son, Robert Stanford Jones of Snellville, Ga.; one sister, Peggy Crouch of 
Auburn; three brothers, R.V. Jones of Jasper, Ga., Ray Jones of Newnan, Ga., 
and Donald Jones of Marietta, Ga.; and six grandchildren.
   Mr. Jones was born Feb. 24, 1928, in LaGrange, Ga., son of R.V. and Bertha 
Irene Wise Jones.  He was married in 1950 to Leita Carlton and moved to the 
Atlanta area, where he resided until his retirement from the U.S. Postal 
Service in Atlanta.  He was a member of Wadley First United Methodist Church 
and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.  Flowers will be accepted or donations may be

Edith Jacquelyn Hamby

   (ROANOKE) Memorial services for Edith Jacquelyn Hamby, 77, of Roanoke were

Barry Cosper officiating.  Burial followed at Daniel Family Cemetery in Smyrna, 
Ga.
   Miss Hamby died Wednesday, Feb. 16, at Traylor Nursing Home.
   Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
   Miss Hamby was born Aug. 9, 1927, daughter of Edward and Odell Hammond 
Hamby.  She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and had been employed as a 
supervisor of nuclear medicine at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Fla.  
She was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Hamby.

Wayne Noles

   (LAGRANGE, Ga.) Wayne Noles, 63, of LaGrange, Ga., died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 
2005, following an extended illness.
   Mr. Noles was born Feb. 1, 1942, in Randolph County, son of the late John 
Perry and Lucille Shaw Noles.  He had worked as a teacher in Carroll County and 
Gwinnett County, as general manager for Printed Fabrics Corporation in 
Carrollton, Ga., and then began a career as tax appraiser for Carroll County, 
Ga.  Mr. Noles had also served as chief tax appraiser in both Macon and Heard 
counties.  Mr. Noles was a member of First Baptist Church on the Square in 
LaGrange.
   Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Martha Lumpkin Noles of LaGrange; 
one daughter, Jennifer McCutchen of Diamond Head, Miss.; two sons, John Noles 
of Columbus, Ga., and James Noles of LaGrange; two grandchildren; and a 
brother, Jerry Noles of Sharpsburg, Ga.
   Services were at 4 p.m. on Wednesday at the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby 
Mortuary, with the Rev. Jim Hilderbrand officiating.  Flowers will be accepted 
or memorial donations may be forwarded to VistaCare Hospice, 850 Brookstone
