Mrs. Woodall was preceded in death by her husband, John Will Woodall. Surviving are a devoted brother, Willie Brice Matthews of Roanoke; a sister, Mary Ellen Trimble of Camp Hill; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was a member of Standing Rock Assembly of God and had worked at the Dixie Division of West Point Pepperell and was a certified nursing assistant for Royal Elaine Nursing Care. Survivors include her husband of 20 years, Wiley M. Estes of Five Points; a son, Michael Stapler of Woodland; a daughter, Betty Michelis of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Phillip Flournoy. Born May 8, 1949, in Randolph County, Mr. Pollard was the son of the late Alice Mae Benefield Pollard and James Burt Pollard. He was a veteran, having served with the U.S. Army. Mrs. Breed was born Oct. 16, 1916, daughter of William and Leola Elizabeth Bradford. She was a member of East LaGrange Baptist Church and had been a housewife. Mrs. Breed was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Breed. Quattlebaum Funeral Home, Roanoke. __________ Dr. Robert B. Quattlebaum Jr. (SAVANNAH, Ga.) Dr. Robert B. Quattlebaum Jr., 73, of Savannah, Ga., died Monday, Jan. 1, 2007, at Candler Hospital. He was born Robert Baskin Quattlebaum Jr., son of Lucy Mathews and Robert B. "Robyn" Quattlebaum Sr. on March 6, 1933, in Roanoke. He graduated from Taft Prep School in Watertown, Conn., and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated from Vanderbilt University, then served in the Air Force for two years. He then graduated from the University of Alabama Medical School in 1961 and served a seven-year residency in general surgery and urology at UAB. He moved to Savannah in 1967 and opened his private practice as a solo physician. He practiced until his retirement in 2003. He was president of the Georgia Medical Society and Georgia Urological Society and both treasurer and president of the Southeastern Section of the American Urology Association. He was currently serving as a board member of the Coastal Gardens and Bamboo Farms and recently raised more money in their city- wide membership drive than anyone. He was also a graduate of the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners Program and was an active member of the Coastal Master Gardeners Association. He was a member of Isle of Hope United Methodist Church since 1972, where he had served as a Sunday school teacher. He is survived by his loving wife, Fall Binford Quattlebaum; his children, Robert Baskin "Robyn" Quattlebaum III, Jane Fall Quattlebaum, Blake Binford Quattlebaum, George Wilkins Quattlebaum and Elizabeth Ann "Biza" Quattlebaum Mabry; seven grandchildren; a son-in-law and several daughters-in-law. Mr. Johnson was born in Randolph County Oct. 29, 1926, son of the late Bernice Allen Johnson and the late William Johnson. He retired from West Point Stevens' Langdale Mill after 37 years and also worked for Kroger for 15 years. He was an active member of Lanett Church of Christ and loved working in his gardens. Surviving are his wife, Lillie Frances Johnson; three daughters, Gloria O'Riley of Athens, Ga., Betty Sue Aaron of Valley and Patricia Lewis of Pensacola, Fla.; two sisters, Velma Veal of Roanoke and Hattie Nichols of Lanett; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. William Dorsey Earnest Sr., 89, of West Palm Beach, Fla., died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2007, in West Palm Beach. Mr. Earnest is survived by a son, William Dorsey "Big Dee" Earnest Jr.; a daughter, Stephanie Earnest Pichurski; two grandsons; and one sister, Mary Emily Ellis of Opelika. Born July 20, 1917, in Randolph County, Mr. Earnest was the fourth of seven children. He was a long-time resident of Florida, having moved from Alabama in 1953. Mr. Earnest was well known in the community for his artistic design and gardening abilities and in church for his beautiful tenor voice and for playing the organ. He served as a U.S. Army chaplain assistant at Fort Knox, Ky., from 1943-45. Mr. Earnest was the beloved husband of the late Sue Adams Earnest. Mr. Ward was born June 16, 1926, in Randolph County to the late Thomas and Beulah Johnson Ward. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served in World War II. He was a member of Campground United Methodist Church and was retired, having worked 26 years for the Southwire Company. Besides his parents, Mr. Ward is preceded in death by all his brothers and sisters, Mae Ward, Faye Stewart, Nora Sullivan, Flora Green, Lila Lovvorn, Charlie Ward, Melvin Ward, Woodrow Ward and Olie Ward. Survivors include a special beloved friend of 36 years, Martha Brown; a best friend, Steve Stewart; and 25 nieces and nephews. In keeping with Mr. Ward's wishes, his body was cremated. A memorial service will be conducted Thursday, Jan. 18, at 6 p.m. at Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel, Carrollton, Ga. Roger Veal Williams Sr., 45, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2007, at West Georgia Medical Center, LaGrange. Mr. Williams was born Jan. 26, 1961, in Chambers County. After graduating from Five Points High School, he joined the U.S. Navy in 1979. After nine years of active duty service, Mr. Williams joined the U.S. Navy Reserve and finished his military career with 20 years of service. Mr. Williams began his career as a correctional officer with the Troup County Correctional Institute in 1989. He rose to the ranks of deputy warden and warden before retiring in 2003.
