Funeral services were Saturday, March 28, at 11 a.m. at Lowell United Methodist Church with the Revs. James Bassham Jr., Dalton B. Styes and Ladd Williams officiating. Burial was at the Randolph Memory Gardens. A lifelong Randolph County resident, Mrs. Brown was born March 17, 1926, daughter of Brice and Minnie Perry Dollar. She had retired from Home Federal and was a member of Lowell United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Brown. Survivors include one daughter, Jane Brown Yarbrough of Birmingham; one son, Steve Brown of Birmingham; one sister, Eurla Reynolds of Roanoke; two brothers, Winford Dollar of Valley and Harold Dollar of Warner Robins, Ga.; and six grandchildren. Lindsey, 68, of Lanett died Thursday, March 26, 1998, at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Chon Lindsey; five daughters, Karen Wilson of Medicine Park, Okla., Diane Knox of Chickasha, Okla., Nikki Foster and Tina Mitchell of Lanett and Joni Lindsey of Hogansville, Ga.; four sons, Steven Lindsey of Tulsa, Okla., Mark Lindsey of Greenville, and David Lindsey and Phillip Hudson of West Point, Ga.; a brother, Thomas W. Lindsey of Pearl River, La.; and 17 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sadie Izora East Lindsey and Alonza Dee Lindsey. Funeral services were at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Lanett on Saturday, March 28, at 2 p.m. with burial in Oakwood Cemetery. The Rev. Phillip Sessions officiated. Mr. Lindsey was a native of Roanoke, born Nov. 19, 1929. He had retired from the U.S. Air Force, where he served with the Intelligence Division. He was also a retired district judge in Colorado and the well-known author of the book, "The Reason For The Tears." He was a member and director of the Chambers County Museum in LaFayette and a member of Sandy Ridge Baptist Church, Dadeville, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, LaFayette Lodge. Johnny Williams officiating. Burial was in Randolph Memory Gardens. Mr. Crouch died Wednesday, March 25, at Lanett Geriatric Center in Lanett after a lengthy illness. A resident of Randolph County for more than 60 years, he was born in Heard County, Oct. 19, 1913, son of Lonnie Lee and Fannie Bartlett Crouch. He had been employed in the textile industry and was a member of Center Chapel Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Adell F. Crouch of Roanoke; two daughters, Barbara Dabbs and Eloise Yates of Roanoke; five grandchildren and six great- grandchildren. Pallbearers were Milton Davison, Phillip Ware, Bobby Kirby and Joey Boyd. Quattlebaum Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. __________ Frank Holland Jr. (ROANOKE) Frank Holland Jr., 45, of Roanoke died Tuesday, March 17, 1998, in Bradenton, Fla. while on vacation. He is survived by two sons, Levi and Cody Holland of Michigan; five sisters, Marlene Newell of Roanoke, Nancy Slagle, Faye Brummit and Carol Kimball of Bradenton and Judy Caldwell of Inverness, Fla.; and one brother, John Holland of Roanoke. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Holland Sr. and Elizabeth Bratcher; a brother, Jim Holland and a half brother, James Pope. Mr. Holland was cremated and his ashes were scattered on the Manatee River. __________ Elmo Wyatt Bonner (ROANOKE) Elmo Wyatt Bonner, 76, of Roanoke died Thursday, March 26, 1998, at Randolph County Hospital after an extended illness. Graveside services were Saturday, March 28 at Randolph Memory Gardens, with the Rev. Stoney Halsey officiating. A lifelong Randolph County resident, Mr. Bonner was born Oct. 5, 1921, son of Guy and Elizabeth Boyd Bonner. He retired from West Point Pepperell. He is survived by his wife, Willie Pearl Bailey Bonner of Roanoke; two daughters, Phyllis Adamson of Roanoke and Rita Patrick of Jonesboro, Ga.; one sister, Lara Bartlett of Roanoke; one brother, Royce Bonner of Roanoke; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A lifelong resident of Randolph county, he was born April 28, 1928, in Chambers County, son of William Robert and Lillie Maude Cole. He was employed at Handley Mills and was a veteran of World War II and was a member of Liberty East Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Lurline Cole of Roanoke; three daughters, Gloria Dean Grico of North Carolina, Jennifer Loveless of LaGrange, Ga. and Cynthia Crenshaw of Roanoke; one sister, Lila Mae Cole of Roanoke; one brother, Jack Cole of Roanoke; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was born Feb. 9, 1940, in Chambers County, son of Benjamin and Rudene Milford. He had been employed as a painter and was a Baptist. Survivors include his mother, Rudene W. Setzer of Toccoa, Ga., and two sisters, Anita Joyce Griffin of Toccoa and Lemerle Joan Milford of Alexander City. Marzena Traylor, 83, of LaGrange, Ga., died Sunday, March 29, 1998, at Brian Center Nursing Care, LaGrange, after several years of declining health. Miss Traylor was born in Randolph County, Ala., Nov. 25, 1914, daughter of Larken Bowden and Ada Strain Traylor. She was retired from Hillside Plant of Milliken and Company and had lived in LaGrange most of her life. She was a member of the United Congregational Christian Church of LaGrange. Funeral services will be at Hunter-Allen-Myhand Chapel, LaGrange, at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, with the Rev. Robert J. Dodds and the Rev. Roy Bain officiating. Burial will be in Noonday Congregational Christian Church Cemetery in Randolph County. Surviving are one sister, Bobby Lou Scruggs of Chadwicks, N.Y.; one brother, James Traylor of LaGrange; and several nieces and nephews. Steve Kilpatrick and the Rev. Roger Woodard officiating. Burial will be at Springfield Baptist Church. Mr. Mangram died Monday, April 6, in Roanoke. A lifelong resident of Randolph County, he was born May 5, 1977, son of John and Pam Houze Mangram. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church and was employed by SteelFab of Roanoke. Survivors include his parents, John and Pam Houze Mangram of Roanoke; one brother, Adam Roy Mangram of Roanoke; and a grandmother, Agnes Mangram of LaFayette. Mr. Mangram will lie in state at the church for one hour beginning at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8. Mrs. McManus, a native of Randolph County, was born Feb. 21, 1917, daughter of Lester W. Yates and Edna G. Daniel Yates. She was a retired seamstress and a member of Bear Creek United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Esker Yates, Lowell Yates and Billy Yates. Mrs. McManus is survived by her husband, Lowell McManus of Woodland; a daughter, Pam Hawkins of Roanoke; a son, Charles E. McManus of Woodland; a sister, Lucille Y. Brady of Anniston; a brother, Roy Yates of Woodland; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. A Randolph County native, Mr. Adamson was born Aug. 4, 1929, son of Earl and Myrtle Hall Adamson. He was a member of Roanoke First United Methodist Church. He had retired from work with Mutual Savings Insurance Company and was employed with Prestridge Ford in Roanoke. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Cottle Adamson. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Bonner Adamson of Roanoke; one daughter, Anya Jackson of Roanoke; one son, Randy Adamson of Roanoke; two sisters, Annette Massa and Betty Walker, both of Franklin, Ga.; and five grandchildren. Mrs. Bittenbring, a native of Roanoke, was a retired civil service employee. She was a Presbyterian and a homemaker. She devoted many hours to her church work and was a volunteer at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. Mr. Carson was an avid gardener and gospel singer for most of his life and was a retired employee of West Point Pepperell's Fairfax Mill.
