Wally Armstrong officiating. Burial was at Randolph Memory Gardens. Mrs. Dudley died Sunday, April 28, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika. A Randolph County native, Mrs. Dudley was born Feb. 9, 1928, daughter of Elias L. and Lucy Heard Fincher. She was a dental hygienist for Dr. Pittman and Dr. Jackson. She was a member of Lowell United Methodist Church. Survivors include one son, Alan Dudley of Roanoke; three sisters, Jo Hester of Roanoke, Loette McManus of LaGrange, Ga., and Eulette Evans of Phenix City; one granddaughter and three great-grandsons. Mrs. Dudley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Dudley; and a brother, Thomas Howell Fincher. Pallbearers were Kirk McLeod, Bill Ward, Bob Hester, Jimmy Fincher, Jim Murr, Michael Dudley and Frankie Maddux. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Mel Holmes and J. R. McManus. Arrangements were by Quattlebaum Funeral Home, Roanoke. __________ William Woodrow Alsabrook (FIVE POINTS) William Woodrow Alsabrook, 82, of Five Points, died Wednesday, April 24, 2002, at West Georgia Medical Center, LaGrange. Mr. Alsabrook was an Alabama native, born July 5, 1919, son of the late Annie Lizzie Cantrell Alsabrook and Travis B. Alsabrook. He was a self-employed truck driver and a U.S. Army veteran who served during World War II. He was a member of Community Baptist Church, LaFayette. Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Satterwhite Alsabrook; seven daughters, Faye Green and Bell Blackston of Fredonia, Geraldine McDaniel of Woodland, Gertrude Riley of Elba, Donnie Lester of Lanett, and Cindy Alsabrook and Rhonda Alsabrook of Five Points; two sons, William W. Alsabrook Jr. of Newell and Jimmy Alsabrook of Duluth, Ga.; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Lester Wayne Alsabrook; a daughter, Viola Davis; his brother, Birdie Alsabrook; and his sister, Lois Striblin. Services were Monday, April 29, at 2:30 p.m. at Deliverance Temple Church of the Living God, Roanoke, with Bishop C. L. Wilkes and Elder Mark Philips officiating. Interment was in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. Survivors include a son, Kenneth Burden of Welch; three daughters, Mrs. Wanda Willis of Jonesboro, Ga., Mrs. Rene Gholston of Conyers, Ga., and Ms. Sherry Clark of Decatur, Ga.; three brothers, John T. McPherson of McDonough, Ga., Bobby McPherson of Decatur and Edward McPherson of Atlanta; three sisters, Fannie Lou Goodwin of Dayton, Ohio, Louise Dunson of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Irene McPherson of Atlanta; and five grandchildren. Ms. Clark was the eighth of 13 children born in Franklin, Ga., on May 12, 1935 to the late Rev. Andy and Mrs. Minnie Lee Douglas McPherson. Early in life, she joined New Hope Baptist Church, later uniting with Deliverance Temple Church of the Living God, where she was an active and faithful member until her health failed. She was an evangelist and Sunday school teacher. Ms. Clark was educated at Randolph County Training School, where she met her husband, the late Robert Lewis Clark. She was preceded in death by six of her siblings: Elear Reid, Robert McPherson, Andrew McPherson, Early McPherson, Mary Nell Bradfield and Willie Frances Burden. In recent months, Mrs. Clark was in Atlanta with her daughters, who cared for her during her illness. Mrs. Clark finally succumbed after a courageous battle with cancer. Services will be Friday, May 10, at 1 p.m. at Mount Olive United Methodist Church County Road 823, Wadley, with the Rev. Hollis Boykin and the Rev. R. L. Heflin officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Ms. Ruby M. Terrell of Atlanta; two grandchildren, Ms. Janice Terrell of Douglasville, Ga., and Gary Benard Terrell of Atlanta; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday after 10 a.m. at Clark Memorial Funeral Service. Ms. Terrell was born March 7, 1920, in Abanda, daughter of the late Henry and Nora Bryant Terrell. "Jay" Barfield, 78, of Altamonte Springs, Fla., died Friday, May 3, 2002, at his residence. Mr. Barfield was born in Randolph County May 8, 1923, son of the late Robert L. Barfield and Sally Yarbrough Barfield. He was retired as owner and operator of Barfield Fence Company. He was a member of Sanlando United Methodist Church and Pine Castle Lodge #368 F&AM. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Barfield is survived by his wife, Hazel Luttrell Barfield. Jason Barry McGuire, 36, of St. Petersburg Beach, Fla., died April 16, 2002. Survivors include his wife, Louise B. "Weezie" McGuire; his parents, Joe and Josephine McGuire of Wedowee; and a brother, Will McGuire of San Jose, Calif. He was the grandson of the late Lewis Rampy and Gurtha Rampy of Woodland. Jason was born in Marietta, Ga., in 1965. He attended Villa Rica High School, in Villa Rica, Ga. In 1988 he graduated from Georgia Tech University with a bachelors degree in civil engineering and in 1999 received his MBA from the University of Tampa. Jason worked for Florida Power Corporation in St. Petersburg. He was a pilot and enjoyed flying, motorcycles, sports cars, fishing and racing. A native of Randolph County, Mrs. Harris lived in Talladega 46 years and was a teacher. She was a member of First Baptist Church, was retired from the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind, and was a member of the Alabama Education Association. She was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Nix Sr., 82, of Rockford was Monday, May 20, 2002, at 3 p.m. at Wadley Cemetery. The Rev. Marshall Carver and Dr. Charles Farrow officiated. Mr. Nix died at his home on Friday, May 17. He was born Jan. 29, 1920, in Motley to Walter Cecil Nix and Florence Pearson Nix. He retired in 1986 from the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, Game and Fish Division. He served as wildlife area manager of the Coosa Wildlife Management Area for 34 years. He was a longtime member of the Alabama Wildlife Federation and was a member of Rockford Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and for many years, church treasurer. He is survived by his son, James M. Nix Jr., and his daughter-in-law, Joyce T. Nix, of Alexander City and one grandson. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Delphyn Owens Nix, and one sister Sara Nix Cotney. Reynolds Hospice Home Monday, May 13, 2002, following months of fighting pancreatic cancer. She was born in Murray City, Ohio, to the late Clifford Dwight and Florence K. Spencer on Sept. 10, 1926. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Dow Garner in 1973; a son, Gerald Dow Garner Jr. in 1998; and three brothers, Clifford Dwight "Rink" Jr., Arthur Spencer and Elmer C. Spencer. Mrs. Garner graduated from Murray City High School in 1945. She was a homemaker for 16 years and then worked for Turner Mfg. Co. in Breman, Ga. She lived several years in Murray City, in Woodland, Ala., and the last several years in Lewisville. She loved to crochet and gave away many beautiful items she had made. She was a member of the Concord United Methodist Church in Lewisville, N.C. Clyde Copeland Ozier, 84, of Bowdon, Ga., died Thursday, May 23, 2002 at Tanner Medical Center, Carrollton, Ga. He was born in Fort Gaines, Ga., Nov. 1, 1917, son of the late Robert Edgar and Daisy Mae Copeland Ozier. A graduate of Georgia Southern College, he taught and coached in Sylvester, Ga. He served in Army Air Corps during World War II as a captain and pilot. He was a pioneer in the poultry industry in the late 1940s founding Ozier Hatchery, Feed Mill and Pot'o Gold Poultry processing plant and served on the board of directors of the Georgia Poultry Federation. He was a premier breeder of polled Hereford cattle in the 1950s and 1960s. He was a director of the commercial Bank and Carrollton Federal Savings and Loan. Mrs. Ozier was a long-time member and chairman of the Bowdon School Board and was instrumental in bringing football back to Bowdon High School in the 1950s. He was a People to People ambassador to Russia in the 1960s. He was a member, deacon and Sunday school teacher at Bowdon Baptist Church and was recognized by the Bowdon Sertoma Club with its Service to Mankind Award in 1998. In additions to his parents, his first wife, Billie Ann Roop Ozier, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Williams Ozier of Bowdon; a son, Billy Ozier of Bowdon; three daughters, Judy Lipham of Lake Toxaway, N.C., Cindy Petway of Dalton, Ga., and Suzy Coe of Wedowee; nine grandchildren, two step-daughters, Cindy Lawler and Susan Garrett of Bowdon, one stepson, Jeff Matthews of Carrollton; a brother, Bob Ozier of Bowdon; and a sister, Edwina Weber of York, Pa.; and seven step-grandchildren.
