Rodney Noffshinger officiating. Burial was at Randolph Memory Gardens. Mrs. Morris died Wednesday, Oct. 25, at her residence. She was born in Randolph County on June 11, 1923, daughter of Charlie Henry and Bertie Mae Teeters Holloway. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Hodge of Rainbow City; a son Mark Laudig of LaGrange; a sister, Laura Burks of Rock Mills; a brother, Henry Holloway of Linden, Ky.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A lifelong resident of Randolph County, he was born March 30, 1938, son of Odell and Hattie Sheppard Norred. He had been self-employed as a farmer. He was preceded in death by a son, Benjamin David Norred. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Norred of Roanoke; a daughter, Pam Moore of Rock Mills; a son, James Norred of Rock Mills; a sister, Christine Hodge of Rock Mills; two brothers, Lonnie B. Mrs. Gosdin was born Sept. 23, 1915, in Randolph County, daughter of the late Henry and Lara Smith Calhoun. She was retired as an inspector at Bremen-Bowdon Investment Company and was a member of Bethel East Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Jackson Gosdin, who died May 27, 1990. Surviving are two sons, Dwain Gosdin of Carrollton, Ga., and Winfred Gosdin of Ranburne; two daughters, Opaline Gosdin of Ranburne and Mrs. Herman "Ann" North of Carrollton; a brother, Crawford Calhoun of Woodland; three sisters, Bertha French of Roanoke, Ethel Maddox of LaGrange, Ga., and Nellie Sikes of Wedowee; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Mr. Burgess died Wednesday, Nov. 1, at University Hospital in Birmingham. A lifelong resident of Randolph County, he was born June 7, 1921, son of J. W. and Murphy Adamson Burgess. He was employed in the textile industry, was an Army veteran of World War II, and was a member of Rock Mills United Methodist Church. Survivors include two sisters, Leola Blackmon of Rock Mills and Claudia Hardy of Ragland; and a brother, Ernest Burgess of Birmingham. Nora Ward Sullivan, 81, of Carrollton, Ga., died early Thursday morning, Nov. 2, 2000, at Tanner Medical Center, Carrollton. Mrs. Sullivan was born Feb. 11, 1919, in Graham to the late T. W. Ward and Beulah Johnson Ward. She was a retired winder, having worked at several textile mills, including J. R. Newel MFG. She was a member of Campground United Methodist Church. Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Flora Green and Lila Lovvorn; and three brothers, Olie Ward, Charlie Ward and Melvin Ward. Survivors include her husband, Daniel E. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Wedowee. She was preceded in death by her husband, R. C. Hester. Don Paris and Steve York officiating. Burial followed at Fairfax City Cemetery. Mrs. Carmack died Tuesday, Nov. 7, at her residence in Wedowee. She was born in Tallapoosa County on June 15, 1911, daughter of Richard H. and Hixie Easterwood. She was retired from West Point Pepperell, Fairfax Mill, was a member of Fairfax First Baptist Church where she was a member of the "LLL" Club, Mary Ellen Yancey Circle, Lydia Sunday School Class, and the Flowers and Crafts Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Houston J. Carmack, and a grandson, Scottie Carmack. Survivors include a daughter, Barbara C. Colley of Wedowee; a son, Roger H. Carmack of Valley; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Heflin officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Surviving are four sons, Vester Harris Jr. of Riverside, Calif., Jesse Harris of Chicago, Ill., Charles Harris of Sumpter, S.C., and James Harris of Wedowee; four daughters, Beatrice M. Jackson of Cincinnati, Ohio, Lugenia Gantt of Huntington, N.Y., and Maggie Green and Bernice Wright of Wedowee; 20 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Born Nov. 8, 1908, in Randolph County, Mrs. Harris was a retired elementary school teacher of the Randolph County Board of Education. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church where she served as president of the Senior Missionary Society and a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, T.W. Tobin #720, for 33 years. Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her husband, Vester Harris, Sr., and her son, Eugene Harris. Mrs. Noles was born Sept. 13, 1908, in Cleburne County, daughter of Larkin and Fannie Fincher Dewberry. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethlehem Campground United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Gilbert Hornsby in 1935 and her second husband Cliff Mandeville Noles, in 1973. She is survived by five sons, Jerry Noles and Wallace Noles of Graham and Garlin Hornsby, Cecil Noles and Roy Noles of Ranburne; two stepdaughters, Gladys Dewberry of Graham and Helen Pollard of Ranburne; a sister, Jewell Bangs of Piedmont; 12 grand- children; and 23 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by two sons, J. P. Hornsby and William Hornsby, and two grandchildren. A Randolph County native, Mrs. Capps was born Nov. 3, 1922, daughter of Bill and Betty Lipham Waters. She was a member at Southside Baptist Church and had retired from Anniston Sportswear. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mallory Gaston. Survivors include one daughter, Wanda Gail Bullock of Weaver; three sisters, Winnie Brown of Woodland, Ezelle Cross of Russellville and Estelle Haynes of Coldwater; one brother Thurman Waters of Jacksonville; three step-grandchildren; five step-great- grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. No formal memorial services were held. Mrs. Van Holm was born in Lansing, Mich., on Dec. 29, 1920, daughter of Clinton L. and Carrie Murray Donley. She was a beautician. Survivors include her husband, Roy W. Van Holm of Wedowee; a daughter, Robin Benacha of Valpo, Ind.; a son Gary Myers of Burbank, Calif.; and a brother, Clinton "Ted" Donley of Walnut Grove, Calif. Mrs. Daniel was born July 28, 1912, in Randolph County, daughter of the late Qilla and Mary Parker Knight. She was retired as a seamstress at LaMar Manufacturing and was a member of Peachtree Baptist Church, Carrollton. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. C. B. Daniel, who died April 18, 1987; a son James Jefferson Daniel; four brothers, Winnett Knight, Winford Knight Ed Knight and Ray Knight; and a sister, Inez Hammonds.
