OBITUARIES:

Timothy L. Baldwin

   (ROANOKE) Funeral services for Timothy L. Baldwin, 44, of Roanoke were at 2 p.m. 
Thursday, May 27, 1999 at Highway First Congregational Methodist Church, with 
Brother Bill Prince, Jr. and the Rev. Earl Rollins officiating.  Burial was in the church 
cemetery.
   Mr. Baldwin died Tuesday, May 25, at Wedowee Hospital.
   He was born in Chambers County on Feb 2, 1955, son of Lewis Victor and Arrie Myrtis 
Baldwin.  He was a member of the New Hope Volunteer Fire Department and Taylor's 
Crossroads Church of Christ.
   Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Victor Baldwin of Roanoke; a 
brother Steven Baldwin of Roanoke; and two nieces, Stephanie and Sue Ada Baldwin.
   Active and honorary pallbearers were members of the New Hope Volunteer Fire 
Department.
   Arrangements were by Benefield Funeral Home, Wedowee.

Vera Agnes Molden

   (WEDOWEE) Vera Agnes Molden, 79, of Wedowee died Tuesday, May 25, 1999, 
at Wedowee Hospital.
   Funeral services were Saturday, May 29, at 1 p.m. at Canaan "Shining Light" Baptist 
Church, Wedowee, with the Rev. Jerome Trammell officiating.
   Survivors include sons, J. L. Molden of Westchester, Ohio, and  James Molden, Benny 
Ray Molden and John Frank Molden of Atlanta; two daughters, Mae Emma Sims of Gary, 
Ind., and Betty Jean Lancaster of Atlanta; a brother, James Robertson of Cincinnati, Ohio; 
a sister, Geneva Sims of Anniston; 22 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
   She was preceded in death by her parents, Hardy and Fannie Elizabeth Robertson; her 
husband, John Tom Molden; a son, William Roy Molden; and a daughter, Josephine 
McGahee.
   Mrs. Molden was a member of Canaan Baptist Church, Wedowee, where she served as 
president of Missionary Society.  She was a "church mother," being the oldest mother in 
the church.  She enjoyed having Bible study in her home.
   Arrangements were by Clark Memorial Funeral Service, Roanoke.

Ernest Billingslea Sr.

   (LANETT) Ernest Billingslea Sr., 81, of Lanett died Friday, May 21, 1999, his home.  
   Funeral services were at New Zion Baptist Church, Lanett, on Saturday, May 29, at 
11 a.m., with the Rev. Jackie Banks officiating.  Interment was at in New Zion's cemetery.
   Surviving are two daughters, Marion L. Washington and Peggy Turner; four sons, 
Earnest Billingslea Jr., Freddie Billingslea, Lamar Billingslea and Donnie Billingslea, and 
a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and 
friends.
   Mr. Billingslea was a retired carpenter and a member of New Zion Baptist Church.
   Arrangements were by Vines Funeral Home, LaFayette.

Jarrell Radney Brown

   (ROANOKE) Funeral services for Jarrell Radney Brown, 62, of Roanoke were at 2 p.m. 
Friday, May 28, 1999, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Gordon Taylor 
and the Rev. Tim Craft officiating.  Burial was in the church cemetery.
   Mr. Brown died Wednesday, May 26, at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange, 
following an extended illness.
   A lifelong resident of Randolph County, he was born April 8, 1937, son of Leonard N. 
and Allie Jim Kirby Brown.  He had been employed with Kroger and was a member of 
Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
   Survivors include his wife, Ann Brown of Roanoke; three sons, Radney Brown of 
Tyrone, Ga., Doug Brown of Roanoke, and Jeff Brown of Fayetteville, Ga.; one daughter 
Lisa Brown of Fayetteville, Ga.; two sisters, Julie Turner of Fayetteville and Brenda 
Landers of Roanoke; and three grandchildren.
   In lieu of flowers, the family request, memorial donations be made to Pleasant Grove 
Baptist Church, 3799 County Rd 65, Roanoke, AL 36274.
   Pallbearers were Tom Landers, Ben Landers, James Ussery, Lee Ussery, Dempsey 
Roberts and Ernie Bassett.
   Arrangements were by Quattlebaum Funeral Home, Roanoke.

Jessie Herman Andrews

   (ROANOKE) Funeral services for Jessie Herman Andrews, 68, of Roanoke were 
Sunday, May 30, 1999, at 2 p.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel, with the Revs. Sonny 
Kent and Bill Calhoun officiating.  Burial was in Randolph Memory Gardens.
   Mr. Andrews died Thursday, May 27, at his home after an extended illness.
   A former resident of LaGrange, Ga., Mr. Andrews was a Troup County native, born 
March 30, 1931, son of Robert and Annie Norred Andrews.  He was a Korean War army 
veteran, a former employee of Coca-Cola, a member of the Elm City Masonic Lodge and 
had attended Standing Rock Assembly of God.
   Survivors include his wife, Doris Carr Andrews of Roanoke; one daughter, Gail 
Andrews Costley of LaGrange; two sons, Joe Andrews of Duluth, Ga., and Arnold 
Andrews of LaGrange; one step-daughter, Susie Moon of Woodland; one step-son, 
Ed Mitchum of Woodland; two sisters, Emily Johnson of Greenville, S.C., and Katherine 
Dillard of Mobile; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
   Pallbearers were Jared Costley, Luke Moon, Bobby Andrews, Robert Yates, Sheldon 
Hursey and John Gay.  Russell Dutton served as honorary pallbearer.
   Arrangements were by Quattlebaum Funeral Home, Roanoke.

Ardies Battle

   (LAKELAND, Fla.) Ardies Battle, 83, of Lakeland, Fla., died Monday, May 24, 1999, 
at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, Lakeland.
   Funeral services were Tuesday, June 1, 1999, at County Line Baptist Church, Wadley, 
with the Rev. Sanford Johnson officiating.  Burial was in the church cemetery.
   A Randolph County native, Mr. Battle moved to Lakeland from Washington, D.C., and 
lived there for eight years.  He worked for American Environment Services as a 
horticulturist, retiring in 1991 after 16 years of service.  He was a member of County Line 
Baptist Church, Wadley.
   Arrangements were by Oldham Funeral Home, Lakeland, and Clark Memorial Funeral 
Service, Roanoke.

Tom Luther 'Buster' Henderson

   (VALLEY) Funeral services for Tom Luther "Buster" Henderson, 88, of Valley, were 
Sunday, May 30, 1999, at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Tim Teague and 
the Rev. Jerry Cole officiating.  Burial was at Randolph Memory Gardens.
   Mr. Henderson died Friday, May 28, at Traylor Nursing Home in Roanoke.
   A Randolph County native, Mr. Henderson was born March 17, 1911, son of Leon M. 
and Mary Elizabeth Florence Henderson.  He was a World War II army veteran, a member 
of Todd Congregational Christian Church and had retired from work in textiles.  Mr. 
Henderson was preceded in death by his wife, Emma O. Henderson; a stepson, Kenneth 
Orr; and a step-grandson, Carey Orr.
   Survivors include a stepdaughter-in-law, Tommie Lou Orr of Roanoke; step- 
granddaughter, Cathy O. Nelson of Roanoke; five step-great-grandchildren; and 
one step-great-great-grandchild.
   Pallbearers were Chris Allen, Leon Henderson, Keith Nelson Jr., Keith Nelson Sr. and 
Terry Orr.
   Arrangements were by Quattlebaum Funeral Home, Roanoke.

Helen Jean Harris Kacer

   (WEDOWEE) Funeral services for Helen Jean Harris Kacer, 56, of Wedowee, formerly 
of Salem, will be held Wednesday, June 2, 1999, at 2 p.m. at Iduma Congregational 
Methodist Church with the Rev. Billy East officiating.  Burial will follow at Valley Grove 
Cemetery.
   Mrs. Kacer died Monday, May 31, at her home.
   A Randolph County native, Mrs. Kacer was born Feb 10, 1943, daughter of Jodie and 
Lillie Yarbrough Clifton.
   Survivors include her husband, Ben Kacer of Phenix City; two daughters, Devy Hatcher 
of Smiths Station and Collen Davis of Alexandria; two sons, Barry Harris of Canton, Ga., 
and Travis Harris of Salem; five sisters, Frances Patterson and Mary Smith of Abbeville, 
Essie Gentle and Willadean Clifton of Wedowee and Bonnie Clifton of Woodland; three 
brothers, Willis Franklin of Wedowee, James Franklin of Macon, Ga., and Junior Clifton 
of Woodland; and 12 grandchildren.
   Mrs. Kacer will lie in state at the church for one hour beginning at 1 p.m. on 
Wednesday.
   Benefield Funeral Home, Wedowee, is in charge of arrangements.

Tonita Talley 'Toni' Maddux

   (FALKVILLE) Tonita Talley "Toni" Maddux, 46, of Falkville, formerly of Roanoke, 
died suddenly at her home on Sunday, May 23, 1999.
   Service were held at Union Hill Freewill Baptist Church near Eva on Wednesday, May 
26, at 2 p.m. with burial in the church cemetery.  The Rev. Ralph Henderson officiated.
   Mrs. Maddux was born on Oct. 8, 1952, in West Point, Ga.  She was preceded in death 
by her stepfather, Bill Clack, and her father, Brady Talley.
   She is survived by her husband, Jessey Randall Maddux of Falkville; a daughter, 
Shannon Greenhill of Tupelo, Miss.; two sons, Kevin Dean of Atlanta, Ga., and Marc 
Dean of Hartselle; one granddaughter; her mother, Mrs. Wanda Clack; and her sister, 
Sherry Yarbrough of Roanoke.

Linnie Fred Brooks Landers

   (BUCHANAN, Ga.) Linnie Fred Brooks Landers, 75, of Buchanan, Ga., died Tuesday, 
May 25, 1999.
   Mrs. Landers was born in Randolph County on July 8, 1923, daughter of the late 
Lindsey Monroe Brooks and Willie Lee Lovvorn Brooks of Woodland.  Besides her 
father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Lovvorn Brooks.  Mrs. Landers was 
a retired store clerk and a past secretary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary.
   Survivors besides her mother include two daughters, Mrs. Brenda Turner of Bowdon, 
Ga., and Mrs. Sylvia Scott of Buchanan; one sister, Mrs. Katie Jo Wilson of Woodland; 
four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
   Graveside services were Thursday, May 27, at 2 p.m. at Buchanan Cemetery, with 
Danny Hutcheson and the Rev. Tavye Morgan officiating.
   Arrangements were by Hutcheson's Memorial Chapel, Buchanan.

L. Z. Jones

   (WADLEY) Funeral services for Mr. L. Z. Jones, 84, of Wadley were Sunday, May 30, 
1999, at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Roanoke, with the Revs. Tim Craft, 
Stephen Brasington and T. J. Waldrep officiating.  Burial was in the church cemetery.
   Mr. Jones died Friday, May 28, at his home.
   A Clay County native, Mr. Jones was born July 12, 1914, son of Amon and Bessie 
Queen Jones.  He had lived in Alexander City for many years and moved to Randolph 
County in 1947.  He was a member and deacon of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.  He 
had retired from West Point Pepperell.
   Survivors include his wife, Iva Lee Waldrep Jones of Wadley; two sons, Jimmy Jones 
and Charles Jones of Wadley; two grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.
   Pallbearers were Richard Jones Jr., Tommy Waldrep, T. J. Waldrep, Bobby Waldrep, 
Fred Waldrep and Frank Roberts.
   The family suggests memorial contributions to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Building 
Fund, 3799 County Rd. 65, Roanoke, AL 36274.

Sylvia Heard

   (WADLEY) Sylvia Heard, 41, of Wadley died Thursday, May 27, 1999, at Randolph 
County Hospital, Roanoke.
   Funeral services were Sunday, May 30, at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 
Wadley, with the Rev. Cornelius Reece officiating.
   Survivors include her mother, Jean Stockdale of Wadley; her stepfather, Donald 
Stockdale of Wadley; two foster children, Kimberly Houston and Joci Taylor of Wadley; 
three brothers, Milford Heard and Daymon Heard of Wadley and Travis Heard of Kennesaw, Ga.; 
two sisters, Vanessa Battle and Beverly Seymour of Wadley; and an aunt.  She was preceded 
in death by her father, Josh Heard.
   Ms. Heard had been a member of Wadley Town Council for the last four years.
   Arrangements were by Clark Memorial Funeral Service, Roanoke.

Elsie Foster

   (FIVE POINTS) Graveside services for Elsie Foster, 93, of Five Points were 
Wednesday, June 2, 1999, at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in LaFayette with 
the Rev. Gary Baugh officiating.
   Mrs. Foster died Monday, May 31, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.
   A former resident of Randolph County, Mrs. Foster was born April 6, 1906, daughter of 
Noah and Lizzie Bailey Brewer.  She had worked as a weaver and was preceded in death 
by her husband, J. Tom Foster.
   Mrs. Foster is survived by several nieces and nephews.
   Quattlebaum Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Annie Mae Tittle Hodge

   (ROANOKE) Funeral services for Annie Mae Tittle Hodge, 83, of Roanoke were at 
2 p.m. Friday, June 4, 1999, at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Don Quick 
officiating.  Burial followed at Cedarwood Cemetery.
   Mrs. Hodge died June 1 at Traylor Nursing Home in Roanoke.
   She was born in Randolph County on May 24, 1916, daughter of George and Fannie 
Harper Tittle.  She was a homemaker and a member of Lowell United Methodist Church.  
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Hodge.
   Survivors include a son, Todd Hodge of Dadeville; one sister, Agnes Barnette of High 
Hill, Mo.; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and a host of nieces and 
nephews.
   Pallbearers were nephews.
   Quattlebaum Funeral Home, Roanoke, was in charge of arrangements.

Gus Wilson Young

   (GRAHAM) The Rev. Gus Wilson Young, 81, of Graham died Wednesday, June 2, 
1999, at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center, Anniston.
   Rev. Young was born Feb. 18, 1918, in Cleburne County, son of the late Ross and 
Savannah Wade Young.  He served three terms in the Alabama House of Representatives 
and pastored a number of churches over a period of 50 years.  He also taught school in 
Ranburne, Woodland and Bowdon, Ga.  He was a graduate of Auburn University and 
New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, 
Graham.
   Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Murrah Butler Young of Graham; a son, Joe Young of 
Bowdon; a daughter, Laura Leone of Eastaboga; five grandchildren and six great- 
grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by a grandson, Joey Young; and a 
great-granddaughter, Savannah Young.
   Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday, June 4, at Antioch Baptist Church, with the 
Revs. David Haag, Chris Mitchell, Toney McManus and Jackie Morgan officiating.  
Burial was in the church cemetery.
   Pallbearers were Garner Maddox, Ralph Jordan, Byron Lovvorn, Wilbur Albright, 
Tommy Sapp, Kenneth Spratlin and Benny Akins.
   Arrangements were by Rainwater & West Funeral Home, Bowdon.

Harvey Roy Avery

   (ROANOKE) Funeral services for Elder Harvey Roy Avery, 93, of Roanoke were 
Tuesday, June 8, 1999, at 2 p.m. at Rocky Mount Primitive Baptist Church with Elders 
Charlie Tucker, Kenneth Perry, Charles Estes and Ben Keeble officiating.  Burial followed 
in the adjoining cemetery.  Burial followed in the adjoining cemetery.
   Elder Avery died Saturday, June 5, at his residence.
   Elder Avery was a native of Tallapoosa County, born Feb. 4, 1906, the son of Robert 
Harvey Avery and Mattie Price Avery.  He served as an active Primitive Baptist preacher 
for 70 years, serving a number of churches throughout east central Alabama.  For the last 
several years, he served at Darian and his home church at Rocky Mount in the Beulah 
Association.  He was a devout supporter and teacher of sacred harp singing.  Through the 
years, he taught annual singing schools at Rocky Mount.  He was preceded in death by a 
son, William Harvey Roy Avery Jr.
   Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Mrs. Elma Duck Avery of Roanoke; five 
daughters, Frances Treadwell and Jean Payne of Newnan, Ga., Mattie Perry of Phoenix, 
Ariz., Ruby Dean Avery of Atlanta and Nellie Estes of Birmingham; one sister, Lydia 
Hawkins of North Carolina; one brother, Elder Marshall Avery of Douglasville, Ga.; 
19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
   Pallbearers were Calvin Bishop, Kenny Whitehead, Jim Monroe, Clyde Avery, Paul 
Mastronunzio, Charles B. Estes and Douglas Treadwell.
   Quattlebaum Funeral Home, Roanoke, was in charge of arrangements.

Lori Sapp Traylor

   (SYLACAUGA) Lori Sapp Traylor, 35, of Sylacauga died Thursday, June 3, 1999, at 
University Hospital, Birmingham.
   Ms. Traylor was born Aug. 15, 1963, in Atlanta, daughter of Shirley Lay Sharbutt and 
the late Norman Sharbutt.  She attended Holmes Bible College and was employed as a 
nurse's aide with Kimberly Quality Care.  She also worked with S.A.F.E.
   Survivors include her mother, Shirley Sharbutt of Sylacauga; her grandparents, Sherman 
and Ruth Lay of West Palm Beach, Fla.; three brothers, Rick Sharbutt and Donald 
Sharbutt of Sharon, Penn., and James Sharbutt of Sylacauga; and two sisters, Wendy 
Golub and Felicia Coxson of Sharon.
   Funeral services were at Radney-Smith Chapel, Sylacauga, on Sunday, June 6, at 3 p.m. 
with the Rev. Larry Clark and the Rev. Kerry Newland officiating.  Interment was in 
Evergreen Cemetery, Sylacauga.

Annie Kirby Brumbeloe

   (ROANOKE) Funeral services for Annie Kirby Brumbeloe, 91, of Roanoke were at 
11 a.m. Friday, June 4, 1999, at Roanoke Church of Christ with ministers Gerald Romine, 
Sam Carpenter and Hugh Johnson officiating.  Burial followed at Randolph Memory 
Gardens.
   Mrs. Brumbeloe died Wednesday, June 2, at Randolph County Hospital.
   A lifelong resident of Randolph County, she was born May 17, 1908, daughter of 
Robert and Cumi Grant Kirby.  She was a homemaker, a 50-year pin recipient from the 
Busy Hands Club of the Home Demonstration Clubs, and one of the oldest members of 
Roanoke Church of Christ.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice W. 
Brumbeloe in 1981.
   Survivors include two daughters, Julia B. Tidwell of Columbus, Ga., and Marceline B. 
Wingard of Arlington, Texas; one son, Ellis W. Brumbeloe of Lumberton, Texas; eight 
grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
   Pallbearers were Hugh Johnson, Richard Kirby, Kirby Johnson, Fred May, Phillip 
Wingard and Michael Ehrhart.
   Quattlebaum Funeral Home, Roanoke, was in charge of arrangements.

Justus J. Thomas

   (WADLEY) Justus J. Thomas, 86, of Wadley died Thursday, June 3, 1999, at 
St. Francis Hospital, Columbus, Ga.
   Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 9, at 2 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church, 
Wadley, with the Rev. Calvin Trammell officiating.  Burial will be in Mount Glenwood 
Cemetery, Glenwood, Ill.
   Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Jessie Thomas of Wadley; a daughter, Ms. Gloria Jones 
of Chicago, Ill.; and a nephew, Herbert Johnson of Chicago.  Mr. Thomas was preceded in 
death by his parents, Alex and Carrie Thomas; and two sons, Prentiss Thomas and Justus 
Thomas Jr.
   A native of Crystal Springs, Miss., Mr. Thomas came to Randolph County from 
Chicago.  He worked as a [P]ullman porter for the Illinois Central Railroad Company and 
later for Amtrack [sic] Corporation, retiring in 1975 after more than 30 years of service.  
He was a devoted member of Friendship Baptist Church, Wadley.
   Mr. Thomas will be place in the church one hour prior to the funeral services on 
Wednesday.
   Arrangements are by Clark Memorial Funeral Service, Roanoke, and W. W. Holt Funeral Home, 
Harvey, Ill.

Susie O. Earle

   (ROANOKE) Funeral services for Susie O. Earle, 87, of Roanoke were at 11 a.m. 
Tuesday, June 8, 1999, with the Rev. Barry Cosper officiating.  Burial was at Randolph 
Memory Gardens.
   Mrs. Earle died Sunday, June 6, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.
   She was born in Chambers County on April 22, 1912, daughter of W. R. and Dora 
Brown Osborne.  She had been employed at Handley Mills and was a member of Trinity 
Baptist Church.
   Survivors include one sister, Vera Mae Patton of Roanoke; two grandchildren and two 
great-grandchildren.
   Pallbearers were Max McDaniel, Mike Potts, Bobby Kirby, Herbert Richardson, Jamie 
Taylor and Tim Whaley.
   Arrangements were by Quattlebaum Funeral Home, Roanoke.

Fannie Waller Kirkland

   (LINEVILLE) Graveside services for Fannie Waller Kirkland, 92, of Lineville were 
Tuesday, June 8, 1999, at 11 a.m. at Wadley City Cemetery, with the Rev. Jack Womack 
officiating.
   Mrs. Kirkland died Sunday, June 6, at the Lineville Nursing Facility.  she was a native of 
Randolph County, where she had lived most of her life until moving to Lineville in 1985.  
She had worked in alternations at Belk Hudson for more than 23 years and was a member 
of Wadley Baptist Church.
   She is survived by one sister, Ruth Thompson of Conyers, Ga.; one brother, Wilson 
Waller of Palestine, Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews.
   Pallbearers were Phillip Clark, Joe Clark, David Clark, Steve Clark, Rodney Clark and 
Patrick Quinn.
   Arrangements were by Benefield Funeral Home of Ashland.

Rebecca Hamilton Evans

   (ROANOKE) Graveside funeral services for Rebecca Hamilton Evans, 82, of Roanoke, 
formerly of Tuscaloosa and Decatur, were at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 12, 1999, at Memory 
Hill Gardens in Tuscaloosa, with Father William Thomas officiating.
   Mrs. Evans died Wednesday, June 9, at Hospice LaGrange in LaGrange, Ga.
   She was born in Tuscumbia on Oct. 22, 1916, daughter of Wilson Herchel and Ruth 
Gilmore Hamilton.  She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mathias Episcopal 
Church.  She was preceeded [sic] in death by her husband, Dr. Robert H. Evans.
   Survivors include two daughters, Ruth Evans Arnold of Tuscaloosa and Mary Evans 
Woodard of Roanoke; one son, William M. Evans of Tuscaloosa; and seven 
grandchildren.
   In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Hospice LaGrange, 
1514 Vernon Road, LaGrange, GA 30240.
   Pallbearers were Hunter Arnold, Miller Evans, Robert Evans, Walker Evans, Skyler

Henry G. 'Bud' Miles

   (DAVISTON) Henry G. "Bud" Miles, 91, of Daviston died Wednesday, June 9, 1999, 
at Lakeshore Hospital, Dadeville.
   Graveside services were Saturday, June 12, at 11 a.m. at Mountain Springs Baptist 
Church Cemetery in the Frog Eye community.
   Mr. Miles was an Alabama native, born Dec. 28, 1907.  He was a farmer and worked 
at the Bailey brothers' sawmill for many years.
   He is survived by nieces and nephews.

Robert Stell Heflin

   (LAGRANGE, Ga.) Robert Stell Heflin, 97, died Thursday, June 10, 1999.
   Funeral services were Sunday at 4 p.m. at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary's LaGrange Chapel 
with burial following in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Randolph County, 
Ala., with the Rev. Don Ellison officiating.
   Mr. Heflin was born April 26, 1902, in Randolph County to John Wyatt and Fannie Ella 
Hadley Heflin.  Born the second of 12 children, he was a member of Lakeview Baptist 
Church.  Mr. Heflin operated Heflin's Auto Parts for 38 years.  He was a Mason and 
member of the Lucas Putnam Lodge F.&A.M. and received his 50-year pin.
   He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Gussie Moore Heflin; four daughters, Virginia 
Hood and Janice Johnston of LaGrange, Elizabeth Barnes of Diamond Head, Miss., and 
Rita Lyons of Snellville, Ga.; two sons, Thomas Vanell "Deak" Heflin and James Guy 
"Sam" Heflin of LaGrange; three sisters, Mattie Will Eiland of Wadley, Hilmer [sic - 
Hilma] Belek of Canal Winchester, Ohio, and Sue Denman of Titusville, Fla.; 
16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
   Flowers will be accepted or those so desiring may contribute to Lakeview Baptist 
Church in memory of Mr. Heflin.

Mattie Lois Harmon Rorke

   (ROANOKE) Funeral services for Mattie Lois Harmon Rorke, 73, of Roanoke were 
Monday, June 14, 1999, at 3 p.m. at Roanoke First Baptist Church, with Dr. Douglas 
Turner officiating.  Burial was in Randolph Memory Gardens.
   Mrs. Rorke died Sunday, June 13, at her home.
   A long-time Randolph County resident, Mrs. Rorke was born Dec. 23, 1925, in 
Jefferson County, daughter of Luther Bratley and Susan Lindley Harmon.  She was a 
member of First Baptist Church, Roanoke, and the AARP.  She was a retired Southern 
Bell switchboard operator.
   Survivors include her husband, Cary Rorke of Roanoke; two daughters, Karen Eleise 
Taylor of Wadley and Marilyn Patricia Taylor of Wedowee; three grandchildren; one 
sister, Bessie Harmon Tierce of Millbrook; and two brothers, Roscoe Harmon of Oxford 
and Cebron Harmon of Washington.
   Pallbearers were Jon Taylor, Lawrence Taylor, Thomas Tierce, Eugene Tierce, Douglas 
Harmon and Frank Phillips.  Honorary pallbearers were members of the Good Fellows 
Sunday School Class: Dr. Chester Primm, Bill Caypless, Julian Lowe, Floyd French, Bob 
McLeod and Lamar Yarbrough.

   (ROANOKE) Funeral services for Albert Lee Coggins, 71, of Roanoke will be at 3 p.m. 
Thursday, June 17, 1999, at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Johnny Young 
and the Rev. Cecil Halsey officiating.  Burial will be at Forest Home Congregational 
Christian Church Cemetery.
   Mr. Coggins died Tuesday, June 15, at Randolph County Hospital.
   He was born in Troup County, Ga., on March 29, 1928, son of Albert Coggins, Sr. and 
Amela Yearta Coggins.  He had been employed with Stran Steel in LaGrange, Ga., and 
was a member of Forest Home Congregational Christian Church.  He was preceded in 
death by a brother and three sisters.
   Survivors include his wife, Mildred Coggins of Roanoke; two daughters, Dianne 
Mitchell and Debbie Calhoun of Roanoke; two sons, Kenny Coggins of Blue Rapids, 
Kansas, and Ronnie Coggins of Belton, Mo.; three sisters, Mary Barresi of Five Points, 
Helen Parsons of Michigan and Eunice Shaw of LaGrange; nine grandchildren and 
11 great-grandchildren.
   The family will receive friends at Quattlebaum Funeral Home from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. 
on Wednesday and until time for the funeral on Thursday.
   Pallbearers will be Michael Mitchell, Bryan Mitchell, Phillip Calhoun, Steve Pike, Jerry 
Pike and Kevin Coggins.

Edna Victoria Wright

   (CARROLLTON, Ga.) Edna Victoria Wright, 87, of Carrollton, Ga., died Sunday, 
June 13, 1999, at Tanner Medical Center, Carrollton.
   Mrs. Wright was born Aug. 15, 1911, in Randolph County, daughter of the late William 
N. and Martha Smith .  She was a retired cloth spinner with Callaway Mills and a member 
of Bethel East Baptist Church.
   She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Wright, who died in 1977, and two 
sons, Garvis and Landon Wright.  Survivors include three daughters, Verna Calhoun of 
Lineville, Robyn Houp of Carollton [sic] and Jo Thompson of Marietta, Ga.; a brother, 
Otis Smith of Carrollton; a sister, Susie Wright of Sharpsburg, Ga.; 12 grandchildren; 
28 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
   Services were Tuesday, June 15, at Bethel East Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ridley 
Herren officiating.  Music was by the church choir.  Burial was in the church cemetery.

Margie Johnson Lovvorn

   (WOODLAND) Margie Johnson Lovvorn, 84, of Woodland died Friday, June 11, 1999, 
at Tanner Medical Center, Carrollton, Ga.
   Mrs. Lovvorn was born on Oct. 29, 1914, in Randolph County, daughter of the late W. 
F. and Agnes Smith Johnson.  She was retired as a seamstress with Bremen-Bowdon 
Investment Co.  She was a charter member of Herren's Grove Baptist Church and a 
member of the Eastern Star.
   Mrs. Lovvorn was preceded in death by her husband, R. C. Lovvorn, who died in 
January 1985.  She is survived by two daughters, Polly Harris of Woodland and Barbara 
Holloway of Bowdon, Ga.; a sister, Elizabeth Meadows of Woodland; four grandchildren 
and four great-grandchildren.
   Pallbearers were Jimmy Kierbow, Mike Jackson, Steve Meadows, Ray Meadows, 
Morris Wesloh and Jason Lovvorn.
   Funeral services were Sunday, June 13, at 3 p.m. at Herren's Grove Baptist Church, with 
the Rev. Ridley Parmer, the Rev. Ray Runyan and the Rev. Paul Widener officiating.  
Music was by the church choir under the direction of Reba Cofield.  Burial was in the 
church cemetery.

Jimmy Harold Smith

   (ROOPVILLE, Ga.) Jimmy Harold Smith, 60, of Roopville, Ga., died Sunday, June 13, 
1999, at his residence.
   He was born in Randolph County on Jan. 13, 1939, the son of Flodie Mae Haynes Smith 
and the late Oscar S. Smith.  Mr. Smith was a presser for Bremen-Bowdon Investment 
Company and was a member of Veal Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.
   He is survived by his wife, Frances Birdsong Smith of Roopville; mother, Flodie Mae 
Smith of Carrollton, Ga.; one son, Gary Allen of Roopville; two brothers, Thomas Smith 
of Graham and Donnie Smith of Carrollton; and two grandchildren.
   Funeral services were Tuesday, June 15, at 2 p.m. at Veal Baptist Church with the Rev. 
Quinnion Duncan and the Rev. Jimmy Prather officiating.  Music was provided by 
Heaven's Echoes.  Nephews served as pallbearers.  Interment followed in the Veal 
Community Cemetery with the Rev. Doris Williamson officiating.

   (CARROLLTON, Ga.) Dawn Lynn Chase, 31, of Carrollton, Ga., died Wednesday, 
June 9, 1999, at Tanner Medical Center.
   She was born in Carroll County, Ga., on March 19, 1968, daughter of Ralph Lynn 
Chase and Mavis Noles Chase.  She was a homemaker and a member of Sardis Baptist 
Church.
   She was preceded in death by a sister, Marcia Chase; maternal grandparents, Mr. and 
Mrs. Word Noles; and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Chase.  She is survived 
by her fiance, Tony Bonner of Carrollton; her mother, Mavis Chase of Bremen, Ga.; her 
father Lynn Chase of Roanoke; a brother, Mark Chase of Ringgold, Ga.; two nieces and 
one nephew.
   Funeral services were Friday at 11 a.m. at Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel, with 
the Rev. Jimmy Palmer officiating.  Interment was in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in 
Graham.

George Harrison Nix

   (WEDOWEE) Funeral services for George Harrison Nix, 72, of Wedowee were at 
3 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, 1999, at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church at Roanoke with the Revs. 
Derek Farr and Tommy Gene Young officiating.  Burial was at Randolph Memory 
Gardens.
   Mr. Nix died Sunday, June 13, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in 
Birmingham following a short illness.
   He was born in Randolph County on Sept. 1, 1926, son of Harrison Reverty and Goldie 
Oma Noles Nix.  He had been employed at Handley Mills, was a veteran of World War II 
and was a Baptist.
   Survivors include three daughters, Sandra Ussery of Jonesboro, Ga., Betty Cuttings of 
Cleveland, Ohio, and Shelia Head of Roanoke; two brothers, Joe Nix of Anniston and 
Fred Nix of Opelika; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
   Pallbearers were Richard Ussery, Robbie Threadwell, Jamey Head, Josh Head, Jeremy 
Hill and Andrew Ussery.  Honorary pallbearer was Jonathan Head.

Reuben Thornton Williamson

   (ROANOKE) Reuben Thornton Williamson, 66, of Roanoke died Sunday, June 13, 
1999, at Midway Health Care Center after an extended illness.
   He was a native of Randolph County and had lived in Liberty County, Ga., for about a 
year.  Mr. Williamson was retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service.  He was a 
volunteer worker in Bolivia with SIFAT on several occasions.  He was a member of First 
Baptist Church in Roanoke.
   Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy Spence and Jewell Houston of Kissimmee, 
Fla.; one sister, Beth Williamson Muldrew of Brooklet, Ga.; and three grandchildren.
   Visitation will be at Midway United Methodist Church on Wednesday, June 16, from 
1 to 2 p.m.  Services will be at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Sarah Corson and the Rev. Taylor 
Stewart officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.
   Pallbearers will be Allen Muldrew, Michael Muldrew, Paul Spence, Benny Satterwhite 
and Billy Thornton.

   Mr. Herren died Thursday, June 10, at Randolph County Hospital.

and Amanda Henson Herren.  He was a farmer and a member of Harmony Congregational 
Methodist Church.  He was preceded in death by three children.
   Mr. Herren is survived by his wife, Mrs. Eva Merrell Herren of Newell; a daughter, 
Sheila Fincher of Woodland; two sons, James C. Herren of Centre and Fred Herren of 
Newell; a sister, Gladys Montgomery of Woodland; 11 grandchildren and four great- 
grandchildren.

Doyl Hill

   (WOODLAND) Funeral services for Doyl Hill, 73, of Woodland were at 11 a.m. Friday, 
June 18, 1999, at Napoleon Church of Christ with Brother Terry Langley officiating.  
Burial followed in the adjoining cemetery.
   Mr. Hill died suddenly at his residence on Wednesday, June 16.
   He was born in Randolph County on Nov. 3, 1925, son of Richard and Ruthie Langley 
Hill.  He was employed with Dixie Industry Finishing, was a veteran of World War II and 
a member of Napoleon Church of Christ.
   Survivors include his wife, Annie Hill of Woodland; two daughters, Vickie Casey of 
Roanoke and Wanda Sprayberry of Locust Grove, Ga.; two sons, Ray Hill and Bobby Hill 
of Woodland; one brother, R. V. Hill of Wedowee; 11 grandchildren and nine great-

   Survivors include her mother, Ms. Pinkie Byrdsong of Wadley; two sisters, Ms. Minnie 
Hill and Ms. Mollie O'Neal of Wadley; three brothers, Josh Byrdsong of Jacksonville, Fla., 
Charles Byrdsong of Quitman, Ga., and George Douglas Birdsong of Wadley; one 
godchild; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
   Services for Mrs. Trammell were Friday, June 18, at 2 p.m. CDT at Bethlehem Primitive 
Baptist Church with Elder Thomas Knight officiating.  Interment was in the church

   (BOWDON, Ga.) Funeral services for Rosie Irene Styles Dixson, 86, of Bowdon, Ga.,

Burwell community with the Rev. Ed Swehla officiating.  Music was furnished by Gail 
Widener and the church choir.  Burial was at Old Camp United Methodist Church,

   Mrs. Dixson died Thursday, June 17, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton.
   She was born Sept. 7, 1912, in Carroll County, Ga., daughter of the late John C. and 
Ola Lovvorn Styles.  Mrs. Dixson was retired as an inspector at Bremen-Bowdon 
Investment Co.  She was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church and was a member 
of the Young at Hearts Club.  She was preceded in death by her husband, William Dixson 
on Nov. 19, 1967.
   She is survived by two daughters, Tena Freeman of Bowdon and Patricia Harrington of 
Woodland; a son, William Robert Dixson of Carrollton; her stepmother, Mrs. Elma Styles 
of Bowdon; five stepsisters, Hazel Eason, Mary Julia Styles, Sarah George and Nelda 
Byrd of Bowdon and Betty Hendrix of Heflin; six grandchildren and three great- 
grandchildren.

   Mr. Noles died Friday, June 18, at his residence.

Welcome Home Baptist Church.
   Survivors include two sisters, Jane Dunlap and Sue Perry of Roanoke; one brother, 
C. L. Scott of Roanoke; and several nieces and nephews.

   (WEDOWEE) Loventrice A. Scales Kannar, 44, of Wedowee died Friday, June 18, 
1999, at National Health Care Center, Anniston.
   Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 23, at 2 p.m. at Stephen Mission United 
Methodist Church, Wedowee, with Brother Henry Nelson officiating.  Burial will be in 
the church cemetery.
   Survivors include her father, Lesley Scales of Wedowee; three brothers, the Rev. John 
Scales of Orlando, Fla., and Raymond Scales and Joseph Scales of Atlanta; and six sisters, 
Adella Hayden of Orlando, Gloria Lawson and Ethel Houston of Wedowee, Nora Leavell 
of Anniston, Dr. Ella Robinson of Montgomery and Cheryl Green of Manassas, Va.  Ms. 
Kannar was preceded in death by her mother, Mary E. Scales.
   Ms. Kannar, a native of Wedowee, received bachelor's degrees in history and 
psychology and an M. Ed. degree in counseling from Auburn University, and an M. A. 
degree in librarianship from the University of Denver, Colorado.  She held several 
positions in public education most recently as a librarian.  "Love," as she was known, had 
the distinction of being the first African American to be elected to Auburn University's 
homecoming court in 1973.  She was a member of Stephen Mission United Methodist 
Church in Wedowee.
   Ms. Kannar will be placed in the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
   Arrangements are by Clark Memorial Funeral Service, Roanoke.

   (CARROLLTON, GA.) Gladys Mae Traylor, 90, of Carrollton, Ga., formerly of 
Bowdon, Ga., died Saturday, June 19, 1999, at Carrollton Manor Nursing Home.
   Mrs. Traylor was born Sept. 27, 1908, in Randolph County, Ala., daughter of the late 
Rowe and Susie Ragsdale Lovvorn.  She was a retired seamstress with Bremen-Bowdon 
Investment Company and a member of Pine Hill Church of Christ.
   Mrs. Traylor was preceded in death by her husband, Wade Traylor, on Dec. 20, 1990. 
She is survived by two sons, Billy Traylor and Fred Traylor of Bowdon; one grandchild; 
and two great-grandchildren.
   Services were at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 20, at Pine Hill Church of Christ, with 
Ministers Harold Peacock and Hal Simpson officiating.  Burial was in the church

   (BIRMINGHAM) Jimmy A. Gay, 60, of Birmingham died Saturday, June 19, 1999.
   Mr. Gay was a past president of the Alabama Society of Professional Land Surveyors 
and owner of a surveying business for 40 years.  He was past president of the Hoover 
Athletic Association and Homewood Lions Club.
   Survivors included his wife, Lucretia "Cricket" Gay; three sons, Don Strength Jr. of 
Roanoke and Jon P. Strength and Ben Strength of Hoover; seven grandchildren; four 
brothers, John Gay and Steve Gay of Clanton, Thomas Gay of Prattville and Bill Gay of 
Jemison; and two sisters, Bobbie Gorman of Nashville, Tenn., and Anita Muller of

Mr. and Mrs. Harry G. Yarbrough.  She is survived by three sons, Don Strength Jr. of

Yarbrough Chancy of Pensacola, Fla.; seven grandchildren, several nieces and nephews,

of Pendleton, S.C. formerly of Rock Mills, were at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 20, 1999, at 
Rock Mills First Baptist Church with the Rev. Clayton Scott officiating.  Burial followed 
at Rock Mills Cemetery.
   Mrs. Bonner died Thursday, June 17, at her residence.
   She was born in Randolph County on Oct. 1, 1910, daughter of Sydney and Mary 
Elizabeth Aldridge Hicks.  Mrs. Bonner was a self-employed retail merchant and also 
worked with McGilvray's Dress Shop.  She was known as "Miss Maggie" and was pianist 
and organist at Rock Mills Baptist, where she was a member for 75 years.  Mrs. Bonner 
was a member of Clemson University Baptist Church at her death.  She was a well-known 
local historian and  genealogist and had recently made contributions to Alabama State 
Archives Publications.  She was preceded in death by husbands, Benjamin McDonald and 
John Will Bonner and a son, Ben Oliver McDonald.
   Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Pat McDonald Evans of Pendleton; two 
grandchildren, Ed Evans of Charlotte, N.C., and Grace Evans Ammons of Pendleton; and 
one great-grandchild.
   Memorials may be floral or memorial donations can be made to Rock Mills First Baptist 
Church, 66031 Hwy. 22, Rock Mills, AL 36274.
   Pallbearers were Jim Robinson, Gene Burns, Tony White, Billy Bennett, Billy Pike and 
Wilbur Stewart.
   Quattlebaum Funeral Home, Roanoke, was in charge of arrangements.

Zora Louise Fetner

   (ROANOKE) Funeral services for Zora Louise Fetner, 89, of Roanoke were Saturday, 
June 26, 1999, at 2 p.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel, with the Revs. Walter Rezendes 
and Pete Raser officiating.  Burial was in Randolph Memory Gardens.
   Mrs. Fetner died Thursday, June 24, at Randolph County Hospital.
   A Roanoke resident since early childhood, Mrs. Fetner was a South Carolina native, 
born Aug. 14, 1909, daughter of Gaines and Ethel Lemon Brooks.  She was a member of 
Lowell United Methodist Church and was retired from Handley Mills.  She loved writing 
poetry and received several awards for her published works.
   Survivors include her husband, William Curtis Fetner of Roanoke; one daughter, 
Margaret Dow of Phoenix, Ariz.; three sons, William D. Fetner of Dearborn Heights, 
Mich., Franklin Maynard Fetner of Florence and Wallace Fetner of Roanoke; one sister, 
Resa Triontie of Oakland, Calif., one brother, Thomas Lemons of Monroeville; four 
grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
   Pallbearers were David Fetner, Steve Fetner, Bobby Scessions, Tim Fetner, David 
Taylor and Buck Fetner.
   Arrangements were by Quattlebaum Funeral Home, Roanoke.

Charlie Paul Williams

   (ROANOKE) Funeral services for Charlie Paul Williams, 89, of Roanoke were at 2 p.m. 
Tuesday, June 29, 1999, at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Frank McCook 
and Brother Gerald Romine officiating.  Burial was in Randolph Memory Gardens.
   Mr. Williams died Sunday, June 27, at his residence.
   A lifelong resident of Randolph County, he was born Feb. 4, 1910, son of Mr. and Mrs. 
Paul Williams.  He had been employed at Handley Mills and a member of North Main 
Congregational Church.
   Survivors include a daughter, Sue Clark of Roanoke; a step-daughter, Jane Perry of 
Roanoke; two sisters, Mabell Brooks of LaGrange, Ga., and Flonnie Robinson of 
Roanoke; four brothers, Myrl Williams of Geraldine, Ernest Williams of LaGrange, and 
Harold Williams and Robert Williams of Roanoke; and two grandchildren.
   Memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association, 7320 Greenville 
Ave., Dallas TX 75231.
   Pallbearers were Thamous Williams, Elmer Williams, Billy Joe Brooks, Alvin Williams, 
Paul Williams and Jimmy Robinson.
   Honorary pallbearers were the men of North Main Congregational Christian Church.

Odis William Smith

   (CARROLLTON, Ga.) Odis William Smith, 85, of Carrollton, Ga., died Thursday, 
June 24, 1999, at Tanner Medical Center, Carrollton.
   Mr. Smith was born April 28, 1914, in Randolph County, Ala., son of the late Nolia and 
Martha Smith .  He was a retired farmer and an army veteran of World War II.
   Mr. Smith is survived by a sister, Susie Wright of Bowdon, Ga.
   Graveside services were at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 26, at Bethel East Baptist Church 
Cemetery, with the Rev. Russell Calhoun officiating.
   Pallbearers were Creseful Smith, William Smith, Gordon Smith, Dwain Geter, Rodney 
Brooks and John King.
   Arrangements were by Rainwater & West Funeral Home, Bowdon.

Annie Maude Davis

   (ATLANTA) Annie Maude Davis, 96, of Atlanta, formerly of Roanoke, died Friday, 
June 25, 1999, at Southern Regional Hospital, Riverdale, Ga.
   Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 30, at 1 p.m. at Saint Paul Baptist Church, 
Roanoke, with the Rev. J. D. Darden officiating.  Burial will be in the Bethlehem 
(Standing Rock) Cemetery.
   Survivors include a niece, Mrs. Lillian Henderson of LaGrange, Ga., an adopted godson, 
Ronnie Culberson of Roanoke; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Annie M. Strong of Roanoke; a 
brother-in-law, Robert Davis of Detroit, Mich.; seven grandchildren; 10 great- 
grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
   Arrangements are by Silmon Mortuary, Roanoke.

Katie Dye

   (WOODLAND) Graveside services for infant Alyssa Katelynn "Katie" Dye were 
Monday, June 28, 1999, at Mt. Carmel Church of Christ, with Donald Spradlin officiating.
   The infant died Saturday, June 26, at Randolph County Hospital.
   Survivors include her parents, Danny and Cindy Crenshaw Dye of Woodland; a brother, 
Shawn Swartz of Woodland; paternal grandparents, Buddy W. and Annie Ruth Dye of 
Woodland; maternal grandparents, Oliver and Jane Crenshaw of Woodland; and a 
great-grandmother, Katie Bell Cantrell of Woodland.
   Arrangements were by Benefield Funeral Home, Wedowee.

Mamie Belcher Baird

   (TUSCALOOSA) Mamie Belcher Baird, 95, of Tuscaloosa, formerly of Roanoke, died 
Monday, June 28, 1999.
   Funeral services will be at Trinity United Methodist Church in Tuscaloosa on 
Wednesday, June 30, at 3 p.m.  The Rev. Daniel Kilgore and the Rev. Lane McClellan 
will officiate, with Memory Chapel Funeral Home directing.  Burial will be in Cedarwood 
Cemetery in Roanoke on Thursday, July 1, at 1:30 p.m.  Grandsons will serve as 
pallbearers.
   Mrs. Baird was born in Welch on November 18, 1903, graduated from Handley High 
School, attended Jacksonville State Teachers' College, and taught school before her 
marriage to James Thomas Baird, who died in 1945.  In Roanoke, she was a member of 
First United Methodist Church.  After moving to Tuscaloosa in 1950, she became a 
member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she received a life membership in the 
United Methodist Women for her service to that organization.
   Mrs. Baird is survived by two sons, Jame Baird of Fairhope and Jerry Baird of 
Tuscaloosa; five daughters, Jacqueline Tucker and Joyce Mizer of Tuscaloosa, Jeanne 
Harris of Mobile, Janet Hughes of Birmingham, and Janelle Couch of Fayette; 
23 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
