Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Mrs. Treadwell died Monday, Aug. 30, at University Hospital in Birmingham. A lifelong Randolph County resident, Mrs. Treadwell was born Sept. 17, 1943, daughter of William L. and Flosie Mae Boggs Williamson. She was a member of Rock Stand Congregational Christian Church and had been employed with Sewell Manufacturing. Survivors include her husband, Charles Treadwell of Roanoke; one daughter, Angie Mason of Roanoke; one grandson; two sisters, Marie Johnson and I. V. Sheets of Newell; and three brothers, Durward Williamson and Marshall Williamson of Newell and Lendle Williamson of Roanoke. Mrs. Treadwell will lie in state at the church for one hour beginning at 1 p.m. on Wednesday. Arrangements are by Quattlebaum Funeral Home, Roanoke. __________ James Howard Huddleston (WOODLAND) James Howard Huddleston, 76, of Woodland died Monday, Aug. 23, 1999, at Tanner Medical Center, Carrollton, Ga. Mr. Huddleston was born Aug. 25, 1922, in Fulton County, Ga., son of the late Ira David and Louise Huddleston. He was retired from General Motors' Pontiac (Michigan) Plant and was an army veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Irene King Huddleston, who died in March 1998, and a son James Huddleston. Surviving are two sons, Lee Huddleston of Houston, Texas, and Terry Huddleston of Woodland; a daughter, Jane Jones of Flowery Branch, Ga.; a brother, Don Huddleston of Marietta, Ga.; three sisters, Frances Huddleston, Juanita Huddleston and Lois Huddleston of Atlanta; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Arrangements were by Rainwater and West Funeral Home, Bowdon, Ga. __________ Louis Michael Belek (LITHOPOLIS, Ohio) Louis "Louie" Michael Belek, 81, of Lithopolis, Ohio, formerly of Roanoke, died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 1999, at Crestview Manor Nursing Home. Mr. Belek was born Sept. 29, 1917, in St. Joseph, Mo. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Auburn University and was a retired teacher and school administrator. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Prince of Peace Presbyterian Church, Pickerington, Ohio. Survivors include his wife, Fannie Heflin Belek, whom he married Aug. 1, 1945, while both were serving in the European Theater of Operations; two daughters, Margaret Fischer of Lancaster, Ohio, and Martha Phelps of Germantown, Tenn.; two sons, Michael Belek of Lithopolis and Jonathan Belek of Pearland, Texas; a sister Helen Bane of Wisconsin; 11 grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Walter Holloway, 72 of LaGrange, Ga., died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 1999, at West Georgia Medical Center. Mr. Holloway was born Feb. 20, 1927, in Randolph County, Ala., son of the late Will and Minne Wood Holloway. He owned and operated Holloway's Trading Post and Holloway's Landscaping most of his life. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of Callaway Park Church of God. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27, at Callaway Park Church of God, with the Rev. W. Chad Smith and the Rev. Survivors include his father, Luther Paige of Roanoke; his special friend, Vivian Lebett of Atlanta; five sons, William Paige of Franklin, Ga., Danny Paige and Michael Paige of Roanoke and Roderick Leon Paige and Philip Paige of Atlanta; two daughters, Pamela Paige and Carol Paige of Roanoke; two brothers, Leon Paige of New York and Oscar Paige of California; four sisters, Ms. Alzona Smith of Roanoke and Mrs. Daisie Melton, Ms. Sadie Dean and Ms. Maggie Paige of Albany, N.Y.; and 11 grandchildren. A native of Randolph County, Mr. Paige is the son of Luther Paige and the late Lessie Paige. He resided in the Atlanta area for 42 years and was employed by Atlanta Gas/Light Company until he retired due to illness in 1987 after 40 years of service. He was preceded in death by his mother, Beatrice Sanford. A native of Indianapolis, Ind., Mr. Bledsoe moved to Stamford, Conn., after serving eight years in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Bledsoe retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1988 after 35 years of service and moved to Roanoke, where he actively served as a deacon at Sweet Home Baptist Church, Five Points. Jackson, 80, of Roanoke died Sunday, Sept. 5, 1999, at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Tuskegee. Services were Monday, Sept. 13, at noon at Friendship Baptist Church in the Bacon Level community, with the Rev. James H. Sims officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Survivors include a son, Ira Jackson Jr. of Atlanta; a daughter, Ms. Jill Jackson Randall of Atlanta; a brother, Lonnie B. Jackson of Atlanta; three sisters, Ms. Maude Swift and Ms. Esther Handcock of Atlanta and Ms. Juanita Holliday of Roanoke; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Mealie Pearl Jackson. A Randolph County native, Mr. Jackson lived in Memphis and Atlanta after serving 3 1/2 years in the army. He was preceded in death by his wife, the late Ruby Bell Jackson. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Atlanta, for 25 years and served as a deacon for 18 years. In Atlanta, Mr. Jackson worked for Southern Railway and Continental Can Company. He also was a self-employed painter and cab driver. Upon returning to Randolph County, he actively served as a deacon at Friendship Baptist Church. Mrs. Duffey was a native of Randolph County, born Sept. 27, 1912, daughter of the late Tommie Wood Gresham and Ben Gresham. She had retired from West Point Pepperell's Shawmut Mill and was a member of First Baptist Church of Shawmut. Surviving are a daughter, Peggy Gaylor of Duncanville, Texas; a son, Charles Duffey of Valley; a sister, Azzie Lee Stilwell of Roanoke; nine grandchildren; two step-grandsons; 11 great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Cinnett Duffey, and a son, Willie Lee Duffey. Seigler Funeral Home, Mulberry, Fla. __________ Charles Tigert Ferrell (BIRMINGHAM) Dr. Charles T. Ferrell, 92, of Birmingham died Saturday, Sept. 11, 1999. Dr. Ferrell was a Methodist minister in the North Alabama Conference for 45 years beginning in 1933. Among the many churches he served was Roanoke First United Methodist, and he served as district superintendent of both the Roanoke and Jasper districts. Dr. Ferrell was a graduate of Birmingham-Southern College, with a masters degree from Yale University and his doctor of divinity degree from Birmingham-Southern. He was a trustee of Huntingdon College, Montgomery. Surviving are two sons, Charles H. Ferrell of Birmingham and John M. Ferrell of Boston, Mass.; a daughter, Carolyn F. Tatum of Greensboro, N.C.; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Mr. Fisher died Thursday, Sept. 9, at Randolph County Hospital. A Randolph County native, Mr. Fisher was born April 1, 1926, son of William Henry and Velma Wilkinson Fisher. He was retired from the Air Force and had served during World War II and the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Roanoke. Mr. Fisher was preceded in death by his wife, Frances. A lifelong resident of Randolph County, she was born Oct. 15, 1915, daughter of Newt and Etta Copeland Butler. She was a homemaker, a seamstress with Warren Sewell Clothing, a charter member of Herren's Grove Baptist Church and a Sisterhood member, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl C. Harrington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gerald Higgins, and a brother, William "Billy" Billingsley. A lifelong resident of Randolph county, Miss Hanvey was born Jan. 28, 1910, daughter of George W. and Ella Rice Hanvey. She was employed in the textile industry and was a member of Lowell United Methodist Church. Burial was at Union Hill Cemetery in Randolph County. Mrs. Cannon died Thursday, Sept. 23, at Lanier Memorial Hospital in Valley. A native of Randolph County, Mrs. Cannon was born March 3, 1910, the daughter of the late Thomas N. and Itura Adamson Browning. She had retired from West Point Pepperell's Lanett Mill after 38 years of service. Mrs. Cannon was a member of Community Chapel Church of God in Lanett. Survivors include one sister, Eula Maudie Browning of Valley; one brother, Charlie Browning of Huguley; a special nephew R. J. Browning of Valley; and several nieces and nephews. Josephine Guiliano Koehler, 66, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999, in a local hospital. Funeral services were Saturday morning, Sept. 25, in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Goose Creek, at 10 o'clock. Interment was at Dorchester Memory Gardens. Mrs. Koehler was born in Bronx, N.Y., a daughter of Henry Guiliano and Emily Martino Guiliano. She worked as a secretary with the Berkeley County School system, and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where she was involved with the Ladies Guild. Mrs. Koehler was a former Roanoke resident and secretary at Handley High School for 11 years. Survivors included her husband, Richard Edward Koehler of Goose Creek; a son, Richard Henry Koehler of Birmingham; and one granddaughter, Elizabeth Catherine Koehler of Birmingham. Tony McManus officiating. Mrs. Bowen died Friday, Sept. 24, at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange after a short illness. A Clay County native, Mrs. Bowen was born December 12, 1923. Survivors include her husband, Denson Bowen of Roanoke; two daughters, Sandra Hurley of Roanoke and Harriett Strickland of Panama City, Fla.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Moses and Sinnie Tatum; her husband, John Henry Trammell; three brothers, Luther Tatum, Jessie Tatum and John Tatum; and two sisters, Beulah Johnson and Essie Holloway. A native of the Swagg community, Ms. Trammell was a member of Saint Paul Baptist Church, where she was active in Sunday school, Missionary Society and the Church Chorus. Mr. Emory was a native of Roanoke and a member of First Baptist Church, Riley Street. As a young man he moved to Cincinnati, and after many years in the music industry, retired four years ago from Warren Electra Atlantic Corporation. Bobby Burroughs officiating. Burial will follow at Forrester's Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Taylor died Monday, Sept. 27, at his residence. A lifelong resident of Randolph County, he was born April 22, 1935, son of the Rev. John and Mae Barfield Taylor. He was employed with Candlewick Yarns and was a member of the Randolph County Rescue Squad since December 1977 and a member of Corinth Christian Church of Wadley. He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. John Taylor, and three brothers, Vester, Bonner and Calvin Taylor. Survivors include his wife, Mary Lynn Taylor of Roanoke; his mother, Mae Taylor of Wadley; a daughter, Melissa Lynn Taylor of Roanoke; a son, Micheal Grant Taylor of Roanoke; a sister, Joyce Lacy of Wadley; and two brothers, R. She was born in Randolph County on Feb. 6, 1926, daughter of Leroy and Fannie Latham Bolan. She had been employed at West Point Pepperell and was a member of Mt. Grove Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Eurtis Puckett of Roanoke; three sons, Larry Puckett, Donnie Puckett and Kim Puckett, all of Roanoke; one sister, Jessie Stewart of Lanett; one brother, Nick Bolan of Roanoke; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
