PENNSY WORKER IS INJURED FATALLY

Louis Agostino, Aged 55, Meets Death When He Is Squeezed Between Magnet and
Freight Car.
Louis Agostino, aged 55, of 2111 Ninth avenue was killed instantly yesterday
afternoon when he was squeezed between a freight car and a magnet while
working in the South Altoona foundry yards.
Agostino, a member of a labor gang, was engaged with other workmen in loading
scrap material on the freight car. A derrick with a 2,800 pound magnet
attached to it was being used in the loading operations. Agostino, fellow
workers declared, ran into the path of the magnet despite shouts of warning
from the other men.
The man was squeezed between the magnet and the side of the car. His death
resulted from internal injuries and life was extinct when a physician
examined the body at the scene of the accident.
Deputy Coroner Guy S. Kling investigated the fatality and interviewed
witnesses who saw Agostino suddenly run from one end of the car to the side
where he was caught by the magnet and squeezed against the car.
The deceased was born in Italy on Jan. 1, 1881, and came to this country
thirty-two years ago. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rose (Marinelli)
Agostino, and the following children: Mrs. Rose Luciano of Altoona, Samuel
