Brown (ROANOKE) Graveside funeral services for Hattie L. Brown, 94, of Roanoke were at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, 1999, at Randolph Memory Gardens, with Dr. Doug Turner officiating. Miss Brown died Tuesday, Dec. 29, at Randolph County Hospital following a brief illness. She was born in Heard County, Ga., on May 24, 1904, daughter of Edward E. and Luella Lester Brown. She had been a supervisor at Palm Beach Company, a charter member of the Pilot Club and the Randolph Homemakers Club, and a member of First Baptist Church of Roanoke. Survivors include several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. She is survived by one brother, Oliver Hanvey of Rock Mills. __________ Jasper Winston 'Jack' Edmondson (LAFAYETTE) Jasper Winston "Jack" Edmondson, 83, of LaFayette, formerly of Wedowee, died Tuesday, Dec. 29, 1998, at LaFayette Nursing Home. Funeral services were Thursday, Dec. 31, at 11 a.m. at Midway United Methodist Church with the Revs. Cloyse Johnson, Al Reaves and Bro. Rayford Edmondson officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery. A Wedowee native, Mr. Edmondson was born April 22, 1915, son of John and Florence Perry Edmondson. He was a member of Midway United Methodist Church and had worked in the textile industry and as a sawmiller. Mr. Dobson died Tuesday, Dec. 29, at National Health Care Nursing Home in Orlando. He was born in Randolph County on July 2, 1900, son of Joseph and Luolla Dobson. He was a veteran of World War II and retired in 1971 as clerk of the U.S. District Court in Montgomery. Mr. Marable, a native of Roanoke, was retired from the General Motors Corporation, Pontiac Division. He was a loyal member of Mount Bethel United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Wyatt Marable and Elizabeth Marable, and his wife, Rosella Marable.
