Burial was at Cedarwood Cemetery. Mrs. Wylie died Tuesday, May 29, at Hospice LaGrange in LaGrange, Ga. She was born in Heard County, Ga., on Aug. 19, 1925, daughter of James Byron and Pauline Feutral Cook. She was self-employed as bookkeeper for the family timber business, was a Pink Lady at Randolph Medical Center, and was a faithful member of Roanoke First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Samuel Mark Wylie III. Mr. Prescott was born in Carroll County, Ga., but spent many of his growing up years in Roanoke. He had been a resident of Kingsport since 1968. He was retired from City of Kingsport, where he had served as director of Parks and Recreation until 1986. She was a retired employee of West Point Pepperell's Shawmut Mill with more than 40 years of service. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Shawmut. Survivors include a brother, J. C. Mr. Whitman died June 16 at his residence. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Sylacauga. A graduate of Vanderbilt University Law School, he was past president of Peoples Bank and Trust of Sylacauga and also executive vice-president of Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce. He served the U.S. Army as medical administrator where he rose from the rank of private to major. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Whetstone Whitman of Sylacauga; two sons, Albert G.
