TIPTON, Raymond L. "Petey," 1969

In loving memory of our son and brother, Raymond L. (Petey) Tipton Jr., who died
one year ago March 29, 1969.

We little knew when we woke that morn
The sorrow the day would bring.
To hear his voice, to see his smile
To visit with him and talk awhile.
To be together in the same old way
Would be our dearest wish today.
We often sit and think of you
And of the way you died.
And that you could not say goodbye
Before you closed your eyes.
The blow was hard, the shock severe.
We never thought your death so near.
Only those who have lost can tell
The pain of parting without farewell.
Within our hearts we always keep
A special place for you.
And try to do our best to live
As you would want us to.
We love you so, we miss you
And in our memory you are here
You are where we cannot see you
Your voice we cannot hear.
Yet we know you walk beside us,
Never absent, always near.
To part with one we loved so dear
Sometimes it's hard to understand
But in His wisdom God has planned
Beyond our power to see.
God gave us strength to fight it.
And courage to bear the blow.
But what it cost to lose you
No one will ever know.
Please God, forgive the silent tears
The constant wish that he were here.
Many have lost, yes we know.
But he was ours and we loved him so.

Sadly missed by Mom and Dad, Brother Gregg, relatives and friends.
