  Mrs. Arico, 77, of 435 Main St., Roaring Spring, died at 11:16 p.m. Sunday, 
March 10, 1985, in Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring.
  Mrs. Arico, with her husband, had operated Nick's Shoe Store in Roaring 
Spring, for more than 50 years.
  She was born Dec. 18, 1907, in Clearfield, the daughter of Nicola and Joanna 
(Rizzo) Colosi, and in November 1938, in Clearfield, married Nick Arico.
  Surviving are her husband and two sisters and a brother:  Frances Baviano and 
Joseph of Clearfield and Teresa of New York City, N.Y.  A brother, Tony, died in 
February 1985.
  Mrs. Arico was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Roaring Spring, 
where she belonged to the Women's Society and the Catholic Daughters of America.  
A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday by Father Joseph 
Gaborek.
  Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 .m. Wednesday in the Thompson 
Funeral Home, Roaring Spring.
  Entombment in Calvary Cemetery.

  Martin Bartosh, 83, Morann, died Monday, Dec. 16, 1996, at the Presbyterian 
Home, Philipsburg.
  He was born Nov. 8, 1913, in Cassandra, the son of the late John and Mary 
(Walters) Bartosh.  He married Mary Martin.  She died May 16, 1995.
  Mr. Bartosh was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Houtzdale.
  He retired as a television repairman from Sears, Roebuck and Co., Pittsburgh.
  Surviving are a daughter, Caroline Good of West Mifflin; and two sisters:  
Agnes Randolf of Morann and Josephine Beasey of Detroit.
  Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and 9 to 9:30 a.m. 
Thursday at Birger A. Freeberg Funeral Home, Houtzdale.

  Of 606 Bell Ave., died unexpectedly of a heart attack, being found dead on 
arrival at the Altoona Hospital at 1:30 p.m. yesterday.  He was born at Yellow 
Springs Nov. 25, 1897, a son of James M. and Nora (Lytle) Bousum, and married 
Verna Grove.  Surviving are his wife, nine children, Earl Jr. and Mrs. Donald 
Fitzgerald of the city, Stanton W., Keller L. and Kenneth N. of Tulsa, Okla., 
Derwood B. of Hagerstown, Md., Mrs. Paul Tulowitzki and Mrs. Carl Tulowitzki of 
Buffalo, N.Y., and Miss Wanda D., at home; 12 grandchildren, a brother and three 
sisters, Paul of Selinsgrove, Mrs. John Robley, Mrs. Howard Focht and Miss 
Kathryn of the city.  He attended the Assembly of God Church, Roaring Spring, 
and retired as a machinist from the Juniata Diesel shop Nov. 30, 1963, after 43 
years of service.  Friends will be received at the Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, 
Juniata, after 7 p.m. tomorrow.

BUCKLEY, Hazel L. (WATSON), 1981

Hazel L. Buckley
79, of Fairless Hills, formerly of Altoona, died Saturday, July 18, 1981, in 
Green Leaf Nursing Home, Doylestown, following an extended illness.  Mrs. 
Buckley had been employed as a waitress at Gable's Department Store for many 
years.  She was born Nov. 28, 1901, in Snow Shoe, the daughter of Edward and 
Stella (Conway) Watson, and married Samuel D. Buckley, who died in 1950.  
Surviving are a son, Samuel D. Jr. of Levittown, two grandchildren, three great-
grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Fae Singer of Jamestown, N.Y., and Mrs. 
Sadie Martin of Pittsburgh.  A daughter, Mrs. Virginia M. Goodman, died in 
February 1981.  Mrs. Buckley was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran 
Church, Fairless Hills.  Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the 
Back-O'Neill-Strouse Funeral Home, Levittown.  Interment will be made in 
Feasterville.

  Of Osterburg Rd 1, died yesterday in the Bedford County Memorial Hospital.  He 
was born at Imler July 20, 1906, a son of John A. and Carrie (Exline) Crilly, 
and married Lillian Fickes.  Surviving are his wife, three children, Alfred of 
Osterburg, Joseph of Johnstown RD 3 and Mrs. Ronald Diehl of Bedford RD 1; 11 
grandchildren, his mother, a brother and four sisters, Frank of Tiffin, Ohio, 
Mrs. Paul Stufft of Baltimore, Mrs. Virginia Claycomb of Osterburg Rd, Mrs. Milo 
Hissong of Danbury, Conn., and Mrs. Ralph Allison of Alum Bank.  He was a member 
of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, president of the church council and of the 
Chestnut Ridge Merged School District and was employed by Horton Supply, Inc.  
Friends will be received at the Blackburn Funeral Home, Pleasantville, from 7 
p.m. today until noon Saturday and thereafter at the church.  Interment in St. 
Peter's Lutheran Church Cemetery.

  Mr. Dean, 60, of Culver City, Calif., formerly of Altoona, died Wednesday, 
April 4, 1984, in his home, after a brief illness.
  Mr. Dean had been employed as a supervisor by Continental Airlines, Calif.
  He was born Oct. 12, 1923, in Altoona, the son of Edgar and Alberta Dean.
  Surviving are his wife, Barbara, and two children:  Sharon and Brian in 
California.
  Also surviving are his father of Altoona and four brothers and sisters;  Norma 
Wolf and Vera Lioy of Altoona, Robert in California and Edgar in New York.
  Interment was made in Englewood Park, Calif.

  Mrs. Pauline Dellaposta, 70, Manor Care Health Service, Naperville, Fla., 
formerly of Altoona, died Friday, Dec. 13, 1996, in Naperville.
  She was born May 29, 1926, in Altoona, the daughter of Wassil and Mary 
(Wojick) Fultonovich.
  Mrs. Dellaposta had been employed at Sylvania and various shoe companies in 
Altoona.
  Surviving are a son, Gregory of Waukegan, Ill.; a daughter, Linda Welch of 
Waukegan; a brother, John of Flint, Mich.; three sisters:  Pearl Delaney and 
Mary, both of Altoona, and Helen Mastolski of Coupon; five grandchildren; and 
four great-grandchildren.
  Private services were held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Marsh Funeral Home, 1521 
Washington St., Waukegan, Ill.  Interment was made in Ascension Cemetery, 
Libertyville, Ill.  She was preceded in death by brothers:  Joseph and Nickolas; 
and sisters:  Anna and Rose.

  Mrs. Louise M. Demmy, 90, Bellmeade Manor, formerly of 1929B E. Pleasant 
Valley Blvd., died Monday afternoon, Dec. 16, 1996, at Altoona Hospital.
  She was born Jan. 8, 1906, in Steelton, the daughter of Arthur V. and Augusta  
(Smith) McCauley.  She married David D. Demmy Oct. 6, 1926, in Harrisburg.  He 
died Dec. 9, 1966.
  Mrs. Demmy was a member of First Lutheran Church and its adult Sunday school 
class.
  Prior to her marriage, she was employed by Bell Telephone Co., Harrisburg.
  Mrs. Demmy was a graduate of Central High School for Girls, Harrisburg.
  She was a member of the Altoona Womans Club and the Altoona Hospital 
Auxiliary.
  Surviving are three daughters:  Diane Weaver of Arlington, Va., Deborah Thomas 
of Bellemead and Drusilla Bowden of Washington, D.C.; a brother Charles A. of 
Harrisburg; and six grandchildren.
  Friends will be received from 3 to 6 p.m. today at the Warren H. Replogle 
Funeral Home.  A committal service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Shoop's 
Cemetery, Harrisburg.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the 
Benevolence Fund of First Lutheran Church.

  Mr. Fornwalt, 76, of Bethel RD 1, formerly of Ganister, died at 8:20 a.m. 
Wednesday, April 11, 1984, in the home of his son in Bethel RD 1.
  Mr. Fornwalt retired from the Letterkenney Army Depot, Chambersburg, in 1965.
  He was born Jan. 24, 1908,in Ganister, the son of Howard M. and Minnie M. 
(Walls) Fornwalt, and married Harriet E. McCall.
  Surviving are his wife, a son, M. Donald of Bethel RD 1; six grandchildren and 
six great-grandchildren.
  Also surviving are two brothers:  Charles of Altoona and Mason of 
Williamsburg.
  Mr. Fornwalt was a member of the Little Swatara Church of the Brethren, 
Rehrersburg.
  Friends will be received from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday in the Hill Funeral Home, 
Rehrersburg.

  Mrs. Glasgow, 64, of Allemans, Fallentimber RD 1, died Saturday March 9, 1985, 
in her home.
  She was born July 14, 1920, in Mount Union, the daughter of Charles Robert and 
Florence Gertrude Shaffer and married Wilfred T. Glasgow, who died Dec. 3, 1966.
  Surviving are a daughter, Alice Marie of Allemans, and her step-mother, Helen 
M. Shaffer of Bellwood.
  Mrs. Glasgow was a member of the Allemansville United Methodist Church, where 
she served as secretary and treasurer, Sunday School secretary and 
superintendent of the Cradle Roll.
  She was a charter member of the Bellwood Eagles Aerie Auxiliary and a member 
of the Ramblers Club, Fallentimber.
  Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Plass 
Funeral Home, Glasgow.  Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, Allemans.  
  Mrs. Glasgow is also survived by two aunts, Mabel Livergood of Orlando, Fla., 
and Whilemene Peters of Lancaster, and several nieces and nephews.  She was 
preceded in death by two sisters:  Violet Fay Sipes and Jane K. Henry.

Friday, March 8, 1985, in Christ Community Hospital, Oak Lawn.
  He was born June 11, 1907, in Patton, the son of Charles and Margaret 
(Paterick) Heist, and married Elizabeth Zutell, who died in 1954.
  Surviving are a daughter, Joan Baukus of Oak Lawn and a granddaughter.
  Also surviving is a sister, Mildred Albright of Patton.
  Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday in Stevens Funeral Home, 
Patton.

Mrs. Sadie Hite
  Died at 10:30 a.m. yesterday after an extended illness at 1535 18th St., where 
she resided with a daughter, Mrs. Helen Lingenfelter.  She was born in Perry 
County June 7, 1874, a daughter of Levi and Martha (Closson) Shearer, and was 
twice married, first to William Fox, who died in 1907, then to Ira Hite, who 
died in 1940.  Surviving are five children, John of New Port Ritchey, Fla., 
Samuel of Mount Union, Mrs. Ethel McKiernan of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Rene Hite of 
Philadelphia and Mrs. Lingenfelter; five step-children, Mrs. Hazel Peterson of 
Layton, Utah, Donald and Stanley of Seattle, Wash., Daniel of Great Falls, 
Mont., and George of Altoona; 10 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.  She 
was of the E. U. B. faith.

Clay E. Houck
Former Warriors Mark Postmaster Dies In Hospital
  Clay E. (Bowser) Houck, retired postmaster at Warriors Mark, died suddenly at 
3:35 p.m. yesterday in the Tyrone Hospital, where he was admitted a few hours 
earlier.
  He was born Aug. 6, 1888, at Dungarvin, Huntingdon County, a son of John S. 
and Margaret (Minemier) Houck, and married Nettie Saon at Barnesboro Aug. 14, 
1907.
  Surviving are his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Charlotte Parker and Mrs. Minerva 
Frank of Warriors Mark; one brother, Blair of Swissvale, and two sisters.  Mrs. 
Grant Ellenberger of Warriors Mark and Mrs. Virginia Igou of Tyrone.
  Mr. Houck was a member of the Warriors Mark Methodist Church and the Warriors 
Mark-Franklin Volunteer Fire Company.
  He also held membership in the Tyrone Elks and the Moose Lodges, the Blazing 
Arrow Hook and Ladder Fire Company, Tyrone, and the Telephone Pioneers.
  He retired in 1956 after 31 years of service as postmaster in Warriors Mark.
  From 1921 until his death Mr. Houck was secretary and general manager of the 
Huntingdon and Centre County Telephone Company.
  Friends will be received at the Cox Funeral Home.  Warriors Mark, from 7 p.m. 
today until noon Sunday and thereafter at the church.

KELLER, John Albert, 1959

Heart Attack Fatal to PRR Yard Worker
John Albert Keller, 50, of 22 Willow Ave. was pronounced dead on arrival at the 
Altoona Hospital at 4:30 p.m. Friday after having suffered a heart attack while 
at work in the P.R.R. classification yards near Rosetower, Juniata.
  Fellow employes reported they last saw Keller standing on the stirrup of a 
freight car after signaling trainmen the car had been cut from a string of cars.
  Later when they did not see Keller they began an investigation and found him 
lying along the tracks.  He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced 
dead.  Deputy Coroner William Crawford, who conducted an investigation, said 
Keller had died from natural causes.
  Mr. Keller was born at Cross Keys, Hollidaysburg RD, Feb. 8, 1908, a son of 
Albert and Eunice (Russell) Keller.  He was employed as a brakeman on the Middle 
District and was a member of the Altoona Lodge, LOOM.
  Surviving are his wife, the former Sophia Wineland; a daughter, Joyce, at 
home, and a brother, Roy D. of Altoona.
  Friends will be received at the Axe Funeral Home, after 7 p.m. Sunday.

  Formerly of 119 Lloyd St., died at 5:30 a.m. today at the Crumm Nursing Home 
after an extended illness.  She was born at Philipsburg, a daughter of Jesse and 
Hannah (Gates) Kelly, but had resided in Altoona since 1910.  Miss Kelly was a 
member of the First E.U.B. Church.  Surviving are two brothers, Albert and Jesse 
of Altoona; two sisters, Mrs. Nora Griffiths of Van Nuys, Calif., and Mrs. Ruth 
Fenton of Philipsburg; two half-sisters, Mrs. Helen Lamb of Philipsburg and Mrs. 
Josephine Woomer of Oil City.  Friends will be received at the Myers Funeral 
Home after 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Max C. Kimmen
  Of 502 53rd St., died unexpectedly at 2 a.m. today at his home.  He was born 
in Altoona Feb. 12, 1886, a son of Charles J. and Mary (Marks) Kimmen, and 
retired in 1951 as a machinist for the Pennsylvania Railroad after 43 years of 
service.  Surviving are one brother and two sisters, George F., Mrs. Juletta M. 
Saylor and Mrs. Gertrude J. Morris of the city, and several nieces and nephews.  
He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, the Moose and Frohsinn 
singing Society.  Friends will be received at the N. A. Stevens Mortuary after 7 
p.m. tomorrow.

Of 25 W. Salisbury Dr., Edge Moon Terrace, Wilmington, Del., died unexpectedly 
Saturday at her home following an extended illness.  She was born in Altoona 
Jan. 23, 1899, a daughter of William and Kate Coffman.  Surviving are her 
husband, Samuel B. Kiser; three sons, William S., Vernet A. and Forrest S. of 
Wilmington; her mother, at the home; one brother and one sister, Vernet B. of 
Altoona and Mrs. Lois Barton of Wilmington.  She was a member of the McCabe 
Memorial Methodist Church, Wilmington, and the O.E.S.  Friends will be received 
at the Gilden-Barton Funeral Home after 10 a.m. Thursday.

  Of 107 River St., Hollidaysburg, died at her home at 6:20 p.m. Saturday after 
12 years' illness.  She was born in Hollidaysburg May 31, 1875, a daughter of 
James and Amanda (McMullen) Zimmerman, and on Nov. 13, 1892, at Hollidaysburg, 
married Joseph Kitzinger, who preceded her in death.  She was a member of St. 
Michael's Catholic Church and Guild, Hollidaysburg.  Surviving are five 
children, Mrs. John J. Morrison and Grant of Hollidaysburg, Harry of Buffalo, 
N.Y., Fred of Elkton, Md., and Joseph of Lakemont; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-
grandchildren, a half-brother, James of Clearfield, and a foster sister, Mrs. 
George Snyder of Hollidaysburg.  Friends are being received at the Creamer & 
Plank Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg.

  Of 1116 17th Ave., died at his home early today after an extended illness.  He 
was born at Williamsburg Oct. 29, 1893, a son of Frank and Anna (Hess) Lantzer, 
and married Christine Burket March 4, 1914.  Surviving are his wife, six 
children, Joseph at home, Mrs. Phyllis Malcolm of Alexandria, Robert of Oregon, 
Wis., Mrs. Jannet Luse of Langhorne, Richard of Berwick and Mrs. Barbara Graham 
of Langhorne; 11 grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Mary Rosenberry of 
Philadelphia.  He was of the Presbyterian faith and was a former barber, 
retiring in 1933 because of ill health.  Friends will be received at the Miller-
Bolger Funeral Home, Martinsburg, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.  Services 
by the Rev. Robert L. Montgomery.  Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.

  She was born Dec. 25, 1924, in Saxton, the daughter of L. J. and Ruth 
(Dilling) Learn.
  Surviving are six brothers and sisters:  Elaine Fuller of Johnstown, Willadene 
Kimmel of Elderton, Ronald of St. Louisville, Ohio; Jack of Belsano, Glenn of 
Ebensburg and Jerry of Curwensville, and a number of nieces and nephews.
  Mrs. Learn was a member of the Church of the Brethren, Indiana.

  67, of 1621 Bell Ave., died at 4 a.m. Sunday, July 19, 1981, in Altoona 
Hospital.  Mr. Letscher retired as a car repairman from Conrail in 1972, after 
32 years' service.  He was born Oct. 18, 1913, in Altoona, the son of Tobias and 
Agnes (Leskowitz) Letscher, and Nov. 25, 1937, married Grace Shultz, who died 
Aril 25, 1980.  Surviving are three children, David B. of Hollidaysburg, Mrs. 
Nancy Eckard of Williamsport and John M. of Boston, Mass., 10 grandchildren, two 
great-grandchildren and six sisters, Mrs. Mary Mittendorfer, Mrs. Joanne M. 
Probst, Mrs. Elizabeth Casatelli, Mrs. Anna Ziegler and Mrs. Catherine V. Graf 
of Altoona and Mrs. Eva Barnette of St. Petersburg, Fla.  Mr. Letscher was a 
member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Unter Uns.  Friends will be 
received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Stevens Mortuary.
  The funeral will be held with a mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Wednesday 
in St. Mary's Catholic Church.  Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Hospital, Augusta, Ga., following a brief illness.  She was born Feb. 20, 1902, 
in Altoona, the daughter of Anton and Catherine Senz, and married Clair E. 
Murphy.  Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Barbara M. Duncan of N. Augusta, Ga., 
and two grandchildren.  Mrs. Murphy was a member of St. Therese's Catholic 
Church where a mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday.  
Interment in Calvary Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to 
the American Heart Association.

St., Juniata, died at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, 1984, in the home, after a

  Known as Ted, Mr. Price retired as a gang foreman at the Juniata Car Shops of 
the Pennsylvania Railroad, in 1959, after 30 years' service.  Following his 
retirement he was a sales representative for Pennsylvania Mutual Funds. 
  He was born May 15, 1902, in Birmingham, the son of William and Anna M. 
(Myers) Price, and in 1927, in Tyrone, married Margaret Griffin.
  Surviving are his wife, two children:  Edmund L. Jr. of Malvern and Patricia 
Clapper of Newry; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
  Also surviving are five brothers and sisters:  Carl and Jack of Tyrone, Harry 
in Florida, Bessie Goodman in Maryland, and Caroline Estep of Bellwood.
  Mr. Price was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, Malvern, and was a 
lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran church, Juniata.
  Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 9 to 10 a.m. 
Saturday in the Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Juniata.  Interment in Blair Memorial 
Park, Bellwood.

Maxwell C. Reffner
  Mr. Reffner, 91, of Rocking B Retirement Village, Coalport RD, formerly of 
Coalport RD, died Saturday, March 9, 1985, in Altoona Hospital.
  Mr. Reffner retired as a construction worker.
  He was born Oct. 10, 1893, in Coalport RD, the son of Daniel and Mary 
Elizabeth (Simmers) Reffner.
  Surviving are a sister, Evalina of Coalport RD, and two nephews.
  Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Donald J. 
Gibbons Funeral Home, Coalport, and noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Glendale 
Assembly of God Church.
