MRS. ETHEL SPENCER AKE

Of 627 West Second street, Williamsburg, died at the Fitzgerald nursing home of 
a heart attack yesterday afternoon at 2 o'clock.  Mrs. Ake was a patient at the 
University of Pennsylvania hospital, Philadelphia, prior to entering the nursing 
home in Altoona four and one-half months ago.  She was born in Altoona, Sept. 
27, 1880, the daughter of Robert E. and Nancy (Garvin) Spencer and married J. 
Edgar Ake July 24, 1903, at Mapleton Depot.  Surviving are her husband, three 
sons, Wayne S. of Hollidaysburg, Joseph E. and Thomas R. of Williamsburg; three 
sisters and one brother, Miss Margaretta M. Spencer and Mrs. Harry R. Allender, 
both of Williamsburg; Mrs. W. S. Rose of McConnellstown and Robert L. Spencer, 
and three grandchildren.  She was a life member of the Methodist church, 
Williamsburg.  Friends will be received at the Friedline funeral home.
