R. Wesley Africa Dead

On Saturday afternoon last R. Wesley Africa, a well known and highly respected
citizen of this place, died from the effects of cancer of the stomach, aged 59
years, 9 months and 19 days.

five years ago he received internal injuries which practically disabled him.
During that time he tried every means to restore health, but the most carefully

but even there the talent was not sufficient to restore Mr. Africa to health,
and death came to his relief at the time mentioned above. He was a good
citizen, and his death is greatly mourned. He is survived by an invalid wife
and four children, Millard and Warren, of Altoona, and Howard and Eunice of this
place, to whom the JOURNAL extends its heartfelt sympathy. Funeral occurred on
