Axel M. Adams

  Axel M. Adams, Tyrone RD # 3, Bald Eagle, died Monday at 9:30 a.m. at 
the Tyrone Hospital after an extended illness.  He was born May 10, 
1906, at Port Matilda RD, the son of Dorie and Mary M. (Reese) Adams. 
He was married November 12, 1927, at Port Matilda, to Beulah Troy, and 
had been a lifelong resident of the valley.  He is survived by his wife 
and these sons and daughters: Charles, Merrits Island, Florida; Delores 
Diehl, Tyrone RD 3; Florence DeArment, Suffolk, Virginia; Glenn, 
College Park, Maryland and 17 grandchildren.  He is also survived by 
the following brothers and sisters. Mrs. Elizabeth Spicer, Tyrone; Mrs. 
Virginia Adams, Altoona;  Mrs. Eloise Weaver, Gilbert Adams, Reuben 
Adams,all of Port Matilda;  Mrs. Mary Peterson, Port Matilda RD.;  
Mahlon Adams, Bald Eagle; Theodore Adams, Altoona; Paul Adams, 
Gearhartville; and  Mrs. Charlotte Albright, Warriors Mark RD.  He was 
a member of the Bald Eagle United Methodist Church and a member of the 
Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen.  He retired as an employee of the Penn 
Central Transportation Company in 1970.  Funeral service will be 
conducted Friday at 11 a.m. at the Bald Eagle United Methodist Church, 
with the Reverend Harris L. Wolfe officiating.  Interment will be made 
in Black Oak Cemetery.  Friends may call at the Cox Funeral Home, 
Warriors Mark, from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 9 p.m. on 
Thursday.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Tyrone Hospital.
