Ashland Progess
Funeral services for Mr. William J. Bolt, 81, were held at County Line Baptist 
Church on November 16th at 2 p.m. with Rev. E. G. Hutchens, pastor of The First 
Baptist Church and Rev. R. T. Sanderson, pastor of The First Methodist Church, 
officiating. Interment was in nearby cemetery, directed by Blair Funeral Home. 
Masons conducted graveside services. Active pallbearers were Smith Thomas Otto 
Gaither, Charlie Manasco, Jack Crawford, Frank Carpenter, Pinkney Dison. 
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Men's Bible Class of The First Baptist 
Church, of which he was a member. Mr. Bolt passed away at his home at 6 o'clock 
on the morning of November 15th, after an illness of several years. He was a 
member of The First Baptist Church and an active member of the Masonic Lodge of 
Ashland, having served as Tiler for many years and wag a regular attendant as 
long as he was physically able. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. 
D. E. White, Millerville; and Mrs. Norrie Smylie, Enterprise, Miss. Five sons, 
Harwell, Felton, Pearce, William, Ashland; Elmon, Cragford; three grandchildren. 
The deceased had been a resident of this city for many years and until a few 
years ago was actively engaged in the blacksmith business here.
