Killed by Train

Benjamin Byerly, aged about 66 years, and who lived about a mile above
Penfield, was struck and instantly killed by a train on the B & S railroad
at Wookward's crossing Tuesday morning. Mr. Byerly was walking on the
track, and as he was hard of hearing he did not notice the train until it
was too late for him to get out of the way. He was well acquainted in this
section of the country, having lived at Falls Creek for several years and
was in the employ of Capt. W. J. Leahy. By his thrift he acquired some
property here and lived upon it at the time of his death. He leaves one
daughter who resides at Williamsport. His remains were prepared for burial
by Undertaker Joyce, and were taken to Williamsport Wednesday morning.
