A shadow of gloom has been cast over the entire community on account of the sad death of Aaron Patchin Dufton, who passed away from this life at 11 o'clock Sunday morning. Aaron had not been well for more than a year, but it was not until a few months ago, it was learned the dreaded disease from which he was suffering was tuberculosis. Every possible means was tried then, that his life might be saved, but to no avail. After a trip to the south, where it was thought his health would improve, he returned to his home here about the first of the year, where he remained until his death. Aaron Patchin Dufton was the son of William J. and Florence Dufton who reside on West Market street, and was 22 years of age. During the long residence of the family in this place, he took an active interest in the welfare of the city, having been closely related with his father in the business of the Dufton Hardware Co. Aaron was well known throughout the county and was loved and admired by a large circle of friends, to whom his death is a distinct loss. He was a devout member of St. Francis Catholic church and a graduate of the Clearfield high school, class of 1910, and of the Eastman Business college, of Poughkeepsi, N. Y., at both of which places his high intelligence was notably remarked. Besides his father and mother, he is survived by his three brothers, Edward P., John, and Joseph and his two sisters, Elizabeth and Helen. He was also a member of the local lodge of Elks. The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 1 o'clock, interment in Calvery cemetery. This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/pafiles/ File size: 2.3 Kb
