George Connor, A Civil War Veteran, is Dead

George W. Connor, a veteran of the Civil War and a resident of DuBois since the
early days of the town, died at 10 o'clock yesterday forenoon following an
attack of pneumonia.  Death occurred at the home of his son, Harvey Connor, in
the Third ward, where the deceased had lived for some time.

Mr. Connor was a carpenter by trade and 75 years of age.  He served with honor
in the United States Army during the war of the rebellion.  He is survived by
eight sons and three daughters, most of whom reside in DuBois.  There are also
several grand-children.  Funeral services will be held at the house at 10
o'clock Sunday forenoon and interment will be made in Rumbarger Cemetery.
