FRED S. CODER
CURWENSVILLE - Fred Shaffer Coder, 60, Grampian R. D., died early Tuesday 
morning at the Clearfield Hospital.

A son of James and Mary (Smeal) Coder, he was born in Faunce Nov. 1, 1911. 
Mr. Coder was a social member of the Grampian American Legion.

In addition to his wife, the former Dorothy Hunt, he is survived by these 
children:  Mrs. Fred (Betty) Hammer, Mt. Holly, N. J.; Mrs. Elmer (Delores) 
Erhard, Levittown; Fred Coder, Bristol, Pa.; and Mrs. Robert (Norma) Desmett, 
McCartney; 19 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are eight nieces, three nephews, two brothers, Ernest, Clearfield; 
Woodrow, Niagara Falls; and a sister, Miss Leah Coder, Stronach.

Mr. Coder was preceded in death by a son, Edward, in 1965, his parents, four 
brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held from the Russell H. Lininger Funeral Home Friday 
at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Irvin Walls officiating.  Interment will be made in the 
Center Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 p.m. today until the hour of services Friday.
