Clearfield Republican, 15 Mar 1901
Charles J. Carr, who has been making his home in Punxsutawney, Pa., and who has
been employed as flagman on the Mahoning Valley Railroad was killed near
Rockton, on the line of said road, on Thursday morning, March 14, 1901, while in
the line of duty.  The deceased was aged 45 years, was well known in and about
Clearfield having made his home in West Clearfield while employed on the Beech
Creek R.R. as conductor.  He was a member of Clearfield Lodge No. 314 U & A.M. 
He leaves a wife and four children to mourn his untimely decease.
