William Ball, 1939-2008
William Lawrence Ball of Morann died Sunday, Dec 28, 2008 at his residence. He 
was 69. Born Dec. 18, 1939 in Bigler Township, he was the son of the late 
Raymond and Evelyn (Bowser) Ball, and on Aug 25, 1983 in Albuquerque, N.M., he 
married Jennie Quade Ball of Houtzdale. He was a logger. He was a US Air Force 
Veteran. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Ruth "Sue" 
Kline and her husband Bob of Smoke Run, Tonya Smarsh and her husband, Bob of 
Morrisdale, Marilyn Smith and her husband Bob of Morann and Casey Ball of 
North Chaleroi; four sons, Russell Ball and his wife Ginger of Madera, 
Lawrence "Butch" Ball and his wife Renee of Bessemer, N.C., Terry Ball and his 
wife Penny of Clearfield and Jason Ball of Port Clinton, Ohio; 14 
grandchildren, Anna Ball, Russell Ball, Robert Ball, Joel Ball, Paige Kline, 
Calandra Kline, Kimberly Ball, Alaina Ball, Jamie Ball, Scott Ball, Tiffany 
Smarsh, Heather Smarsh, Robert Smith and Justin Smith; six great-
grandchildren; three sisters, Beverly Gower of Drifting, Donna Harris and her 
husband Bill of Madera and Lucy Brummel and her husband Gene of St. Augustine, 
Fla.; five brothers, Leslie Ball and his wife Eleanor of Smoke Run, Robert 
Ball and his wife Robbie of Ginter, Delbert Ball and his wife Marcella of 
Ramey, John Ball and his wife Brenda of Sandy Ridge and Otto Ball of Olanta; 
and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parennts, 
a brother Edward; and a sister, Betty Jean.  Arrangements were under the 
direction of Kruise Funeral Home, Madera and Ramey.

*Obituary used by permission from The Progress Office, Clearfield, Pennsylvania

*Per William's request, no formal funeral service was held. A private viewing 
for family members only was held at Kruise Funeral Home in Madera. He was 
cremated and his ashes interred at his grandparents grave at Crossroads 
Cemetery. A Christian graveside service was conducted by Pastor Simmers, 
Parsonville Assembly of God Church.
