Reynoldsville (PA) STAR
REYNOLDSVILLE (PA) STAR, Sept. 10, 1964

Services were conducted Saturday for the late Clair S. Armagost, retired 
farmer of R.D. 3, Reynoldsville, who died in the Maple Avenue Hospital at 
11:20 a.m., Thursday, September 3, 1964. He had been ill for the past three 
weeks.

Mr. Armagost was born in Winslow Township, August 4, 1893,the son of Thomas 
and Mary (Himes) Armagost.

His marriage to the former Martha M. Wayland took place May 27, 1920. He spent 
his lifetime in the Township and was a member of the First Methodist Church, a 
veteran of WWI, and a member of the McMullen-Snyder Post American Legion, of 
Reynodlsville.

Surviving relatives are his wife, three sons, Lt. Col. Edgar Armagost, U S Air 
Force, Washington, D.C., Lawrence, Rockton and Guy, DuBois: one daughter, Mrs. 
Kenneth (Charlotte) Grinnin, Brockway; two sisters, Miss Hilda Armagost, 
R.D.3, Reynoldsville, Mrs. Verna Dunlap, Placentia, Cal., three brothers, Fred 
and William Armagost, both of R.D.3, Reynoldsville, and Milton, of Leechburg, 
seven granchildren also survive.

Friends were received at the Eugene F. Smith Funeral Home until 2:00 p.m. on 
Saturday when Rev. Rodney J. Croyle officiated at the services. Interment took 
place in the Syphrit Cemetery.
