Services for Mrs. Francis S. Bowen, 89, of Cragford were Sunday at Cragford 
Methodist Church with the Rev. Buster R. Bullard and the Rev. A.D. Langs ton 
officiating. Burial was in Cragford Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of 
Lineville in, charge. Mrs. Bowen died Friday in Lineville Geriatric Center after 
a long illness. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Edith Carter of Cragford; 
four sons, Manuel Bowen of Northport, James Bowen of Alexander City, Robert 
Bowen of Fayette vi He, N.C., and D.C. Bowen of Orlando, a half-sister; three 
half-brothers; 37 grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, 
five step-great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and a step-great-
great-grandchild. Pallbearers were Wayne Bowen, Ron Bowen, William Carter, Mark 
Bowen, Bobby Bowen and Jim Carter. Honorary pallbearers were grandsons. Mrs. 
Bowen was a native of Dalton, Ga, and had resided in Clay County for the past 57 
years. She was a homemaker and a lifetime member of Mackey' Chapter 122, Order 
of the Eastern Star, in Ashland..
