Rev. C. T. Brown Dies in Gainesville

Rev. Chas. T. Brown, 78, widely known Baptist minister, died at his residence in 
Gainesville, Ga., Tuesday, January 27th, following an illness of ten days.

Rev. Brown was pastor of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and Fairview Baptist 
Church for a number of years.

Funeral services were held in Gainesville on Tuesday following, conducted by Rev. 
W.M. Gilbert and Dr. J.W. Merritt. Burial was in Alta Vista cemetery in 
Gainesville.

Born in Forsyth County, he was the son of Emily Sanford and Berrien H. Brown. 
Uniting with the Baptist Church 65 years ago, he had served many churches in this 
section for a period of 50 years.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ida Scruggs Brown, Gainesville; two sons Dr. C.T. 
Brown, Jr. Guyton; Dr. Ralph E. Brown, Barnwell, S.C.: two daughters, Miss Clara 
Brown, Nashville; Miss Kathaleen Brown, Gainesville; two brothers, the Rev. George 
R. Brown, Cleveland; Harry E. Brown, Columbia, S.C.; two sisters, Mrs. T. H. 
Robertson, and Miss Fay Brown, Gainesville.
