Alton Fletcher, 56, Died in Michigan

Alton Fletcher, formerly of Royalton, died in Stockbridge, Michigan on April
21. He was 56 years, 8 months, and 11 days of age, having been born July 20,
1904.

He was a son of Miles and Rebecca Dyer Fletcher, both deceased. His mother was
a daugher of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wiley Dyer of Hendricks.

He was an employee of the Federal Screw Works of Chelsea, Michigan, for
several years and lived in the Stockbridge area. On Nov. 19, 1927 he was
married to Esther Risner, and five children were born to this union: Rubena,
Verbena, Henry, Gerald, and Betty. All are now married with the exception of
Gerald, who is in the armed forces and Betty at home.

He leaves eight grandchildren and four brothers: Ransom and Nal, Stockbridge;
Otto, of Akron, Indiana, and Hoker of Royalton.

He lived a good moral life, ready to assist and help anyone in need, and in
his last days he accepted Christ as his Saviour and left a testimony with a
minister that all was well and that he was saved.

He leaves an uncle, Eddie Dyer, of Hendricks, and two aunts, Mrs. Audie
Barnett of Lakeville and Mrs. Modie Rowe of Carie, Ohio, and a host of
relatives throughout Magoffin County to mourn his loss. In his last days all
his relatives were close to him in his heart and he would recall happy
memories of his last visits with them. He never gave up hope of being well
again, but a call came from on high and death took him, his spirit returning
to God Who gave it.

He was laid to rest in Stockbridge Cemetery Tuesday afternoon, April 25th.
with Rev. Goughnour officiating.
