Bowling, Gertrude "Pauline" , 68, of Salyersville, died Friday, 
March 25, 2005 at Highlands Regional Medical Center, Prestonsburg. 

Born Jan. 25, 1937, in Van Lear, she was a daughter of the late 
Eunace and Ellie Murphy Penix. 

She was a retired sales clerk and a member of the Baptist faith. 

She was also preceded in death by her adopted parents, Will and 
Lela Penix Collins; a son, Charles Ray Bowling; five brothers, Melvin 
Penix, Frank Penix, Marvin Penix, Ray Collins, and William Henry Collins;
 three sisters, Gertrude Collins, Reva Slusher, and Jewel Conley; and a 
grandchild. Survivors include a son, Allen Bowling of Salyersville; a brother, 
Russ Penix of Alabama; two sisters, Cindy Crace and Virginia Conley, both 
of Salyersville; and two grandchildren. 

Funeral services were Monday, March 28, at Salyersville Funeral Home 
Chapel with Rev. Robert Felber officiating. Burial was in Tackett Cemetery, 
Salyersville, under direction of Salyersville Funeral Home.
