Born Dec. 24, 1910, in Magoffin County, he was a son of the late John Sherman and Sarah Margret Lykins Meadows. He was a farmer and a member of Grape Creek United Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Lykins Meadows; and four sisters, Mintie Lykins, Bertha Barker, Esther Adams, and Sue Cochran. Survivors include four sons, James A. Meadows of West Chester, Ohio, Buford Meadows of Hamilton, Ohio, Ronnie Meadows of Fredville, and Aaron Meadows of Salyersville; a sister, Fannie Perkins of Loveland, Ohio; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Tuesday, Oct. 28, at Grape Creek United Baptist Church, Grape Creek, with Revs. Frank Blevins, Jeff Carroll, Harlen Burnett and James Carroll officiating. Burial will be in Lykins Cemetery, Grape Creek, under direction of Magoffin County Funeral Home, Salyersville.
