Born May 18, 1920, in Magoffin County, she was a daughter of the late David Coon and Ina Charles Lovely. She was a seamstress. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gaines Howard, a son, Farmer Howard; and a daughter, Ina Jean Howard. Survivors include a son, Thomas F. Howard of Salyersville; two daughters, Vivian Irene Lykins of West Liberty and Christine Slusher of Englewood, Ohio; a brother, Fred Lovely of Morrow, Ohio; two sisters, Hazel Martin of Columbus, Ohio, and Elizabeth Jane Nieman of Amanda, Ohio; five grandchildren; four great- grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Funeral services were Monday, Oct. 6, at Salyersville Funeral Home, with Roy Collett and Casey Helton officiating.
