GOLDIE HOWARD FERKINS(?)


DOLA,OHIO -- Funeral services for Goldie Ferkins, 75, of Dola, 
will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, 
Ada, the Rev. Charles Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Preston 
Cemetery, Alger. 

Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday and until 
time of services Saturday at the funeral home. 

Mrs. Ferkins died at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999, at her residence. 

She was born Jan. 13, 1924, in Magoffin County, Ky., to Gold and 
Margaret (Bailey) Howard. She married George "Red" Ferkins on 
July 14, 1967, and he died Oct. 4, 1984. 

Surviving are two sons, Robert L. of Dola, David R. of Columbus; 
three grandchildren; a brother, James Conley, Kenton; and three sisters, 
Poppy L. Crawford, Lima, Ollie Ritchie, Gainsville, Fla., Meddie Etinger, 
Angola, Ind. 

She was preceded in death by a brother, Sam Howard; five half brothers, 
John, Leck, Ben, Troy and Lloyd Conley; a half sister, Nancy Conley; 
and a stepfather, Adam Conley. 

Mrs. Ferkins was a cook at the Outpost Restaurant, Williamstown. 

She was a former member of Quickstep Penecostal Church of God, Alger, 
and former member of VFW Women's Auxiliary, Kenton. 

Memorials may be made to Hardin Hospice Care, Kenton.
