Ella Brown Bays, age 71, of Jackson, died Tuesday, January 31, at her residence.
She was born August 11,1929, the daughter of the late Ed and Gracie Smith Brown. 
She was a homemaker and a member of Little Cane Creek Baptist Church of Little Cane 
Creek WMU.

Survivors include one daughter, Kathy Bays (Norman) Alberts, of Jackson; two sons, 
Oscar Ray Bays, of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Charles James (Bessie) Bays, of Berry; 
three brothers, Ed Jr. (Essie) Brown, of Gauge, MacArthur (Rosalie) Brown, and Marcus 
(Emily) Brown, all of Waynesfield, Ohio; four sisters, Betty (Dave) Dean, of Banner, 
Martha (Andy) Prater, of Waynesfield, Ohio, Sarah (Arnold) Banks, of Jackson and Naomi 
(Ovie) Gibson, of White Pigeon, Michigan; one brother-in-law, Keith (Nancy) Bays, of 
Seitz; one special friend and neighbor, Lizzie "Granny" Hensley, of Jackson; four 
grandchildren, Roy MitcheIl McClees, Katessa Rebecca Bays, Deona Marie Robinson, 
and James Michael Wright; and two great-grandchildren, Jacob Robinson and Ashley Robinson.

Those preceding her in death besides her parents was her husband Mitchell Bays

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, February 3, at 1:00pm, at Middle Fork
United Baptist Church, of Sietz with Rev. Adam Feltner officiating.

Burial followed in the Lewis Back Cemetery, with Breathitt Funeral Home in
charge of arrangements.
