John H. Allen, Nov. 2, 1938-Feb. 15, 2001

John Hatcher Allen, age 62, of Royalton, died Thursday, February 15, at 
his residence.He was born November 2, 1938, in Magoffin County, the son of 
the late Hatcher and Grace Prater Allen. He was retired from Pullman Standard 
and a member of the Pentecostal Faith.

Survivors include two sons,John Dwayne Allen and Anthony Allen, both of Michigan 
City,Indiana; two daughters, Louise Steinhiser and Carolyn Cook, both of Michigan 
City, Indiana; three brothers, Lonzo Allen, of Cedar Lake, Indiana, Paul Ed Al1en,
of Beaver Dam, and Jerry Ray Allen, of Royalton; eight sisters,Mornie Lorraine Whitworth,
of Harvest, Alabama, Virginia Parker, of Cedar Lake, Indiana, Bernice Risner, of Crown 
Point, Indiana, Amanda Lula Begley, and Ruth Irene Baize, both of Royalton, Linda Meade, 
Ella Faye Burke and Alice Mae Stevens, all of Prestonsburg and several grandchildren.

Those preceding him in death besides his parents were one son, James Allen; one brother, 
Jimmy Allen and one sister, Aileen Conley.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, February 18, at 2:00 p.m., in the Magoffin County
Funeral Home Chapel, with Simon Porter and Mike Smith officiating.

Burial followed in the Hatcher Allen Cemetery, of Puncheon, with the Magoffin County 
Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
