Lineville Headlight
Daughter of George W. Griffin and wife was born Oct. 5th, 1890. As a child she
was inclined toward the Sunday school and church. She was converted at the age
of thirteen and joined the Missionary Baptist church. She was married May 7th,
1908, to Henry E. Boyd. Soon after marriage she joined the Christian church to
be with her husband. She lived a consistent church member and the life of a
devoted Christian, to this happy couple was born five children, one boy and four
girls, the oldest a boy of eleven years and the youngest a girl of eleven
months. On July 1st, 1919, grim death came into this peaceful home and carried
away this faithful companion and devoted mother. It came just as this happy
couple were beginning to realize the dreams of their early matrimonial union.
God had surely smiled on them for it seemed that everything under their
direction had prospered, and they had been able to gather around them the
comforts of life. But amid the hours of deeming prosperity and happiness God
permitted shadows of death to come and now this home is in darkness and gloom.
Only those who have drunk the dregs of this bitter cup can know that the light
of the home has gone Companion. She will not be standing in the door to welcome
you Dear little ones, there is no mother now to administer to your wants and
answer your calls. Father, mother, brothers, sisters and loved ones that longed
for visit will not be made again. But thanks be to God we can look up in faith
thru our tears and know that she is not dead but just transplanted to the other
shore. How much more Heaven means to us how that she is there. May her children
early be taught to imitate her virtues and trust and rely on her God, Husband,
we know you are sad and lonely working along without her support and comfort,
but with your hand in God's hand. and your faith looking up to Him all will be
well God will provide.
A Fiend.
