Harry M. Badders
Harry M. Badders, a well-known resident of Littlestown and widely known among 
the employees of the Pennsylvania Railroad in this section and York as a 
retired passenger conductor, expired at his home on Lombard Street, 
Littlestown, yesterday afternoon at 2:50 o'clock. He suffered a paralytic 
stroke at 7:15 AM, and failed to rally. He was employed most of his life by 
the Pennsylvania Railroad Company had rose from the ranks to the position the 
passenger conductor, which position he held at the time of his retirement from 
active duty. For many years he was the conductor of the Frederick branch, 
upgrading from York to Frederick and return daily. His courtesy and kindness 
in his daily work earned him a large circle of friends along his route.
     He was 68 years old and a son of the late Wayne and Mary Badders. 
Surviving are his wife, who before his marriage was Emily K. Yohe; four 
children, Nathan M. Badders and Mrs. Hamilton Walker, at home: Harry W. 
Badders, Littlestown, and Mrs. Elmer R. Alexander, Waynesboro, VA; six 
grandchildren; three sisters and one brother, Mrs. John Liphart, Baltimore; 
Mrs. Bessie Redding, Wilmington, Delaware; Mrs. Joan Mahler, Lancaster, and 
William Badders, Covington, VA.
     Mr. Badders was a member of the Redeemer's Reformed Church, Littlestown, 
and was affiliated fraternally with Patomas lodge No. 348, Free and Accepted 
Masons, Hanover. He was also a member of the brotherhood of railroad train 
men. The funeral will be held Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with services 
today J. W. Little & Son funeral home, Maple Avenue, Littlestown. Rev. 
Theodore W. Boltz, pastor of the Redeemer Reformed Church, Littlestown and 
Rev. Dr. Marsh P.J. Roth, pastor emeritus of Trinity Reformed Church, Hanover 
chaplin of Patomas Lodge, will officiate. Interment will be in the Mt. Carmel 
cemetery, Littlestown.

Harry M. Badders
The funeral of Harry M. Badders, Spanish-American war veteran, retired 
passenger conductor of the Frederick branch of the Pennsylvania Railroad and a 
well-known resident of Littlestown, who died Tuesday at his home, 41 Lombard 
Street, that place, was held Friday afternoon at the J. W. Little & Son 
funeral home. Rev. Theodore W. Boltz, pastor of Redeemer's Reformed church, 
Littlestown, of which Mr. Badders was a member, and Rev. Dr. Marshby.J. Roth, 
Pastor emeritus of Redeemer's Reformed Church, Hanover, and chaplain of Patmos 
lodge No. 348, Free and Accepted Mason, Hanover, which he was affiliated with, 
officiated. Interment was in Mount Carmel cemetery here.
     Pallbearers were: Maurice W. Naill, Wilbur A. Baker, H. G. Blocker, 
Stanley M. Staub, Stanley B. Stover and Lloyd E. Crouse. The following members 
of Patmos lodge conducted graveside services.  Dr. J. Roth chaplain; Wilbur A. 
Bankert, worshipful master; Stanley M. Staub, senior warden; Roy D. Knouse, 
junior warden.  The 
funeral was attended by relatives and  friends from York, Lancaster, 
Baltimore, Washington, Waynesboro and Covington, VA. There were many floral 
tributes.
