LaGrange Reporter Dec. 15, 1881
Married at the residence of the bride's mother- the late Mrs. Sarah T. Sloan
on Sunday morning, the 11th by Rev. F.M.T. Brannon. Mr.W.F.Fannin and Miss
Mary A.Sloan, all of Troup County.
From the alter where they pledged their troth, the happy couple rode to
Midway church, where they attended divine service; thence to the residence of
the bride's brother-Mr.Jesse Louis Sloan-where a bountiful dinner was served
in their honor. May they never feel the blight of sorrow and may life's
waters be always smooth to their sailing..

Additional Comments:
Sarah T. (Davis) Sloan was the wife of Lewis R. Sloan who was killed in the
Civil War at Winchester, Va. on Sept.16,1864. They had 8 children.
