"The Roanoke Leader"
Roanoke, Randolph Co., Alabama

NEWSPAPER Issue of Wednesday, December 20, 1916

ROANOKE LADY MARRIED

Accompanied by her sister Mrs. W.C. Coleman, Miss Beulah Bass went to
LaGrange Friday (Dec. 15, 1916) where they were joined by the latter's lover,
Mr. Theodore Hathaway, who procured a marriage license and in short time he and
Miss Bass were pronounced husband and wife. Mr. and Mrs. Hathaway then left on
a tour of California after which they will be at Flomaton, Alabama (Escambia
Co.) where the groom is in the employ of the L. & N. Railroad as operator. The
romance which results thus happily began several years ago when the bride of
last Friday visited her brother in Flomaton. Mrs. Hathaway is well fitted to
prove a real helpmeet to the man whose good fortune it has been to win her
heart and hand. Her many friends in Roanoke and in other sections of her
native county unite in best wishes for her future happiness.
